UltraScape Porcelpoint Technical Information
UltraScape Porcelpoint is supplied as a pre-mixed dry-pack, which only requires the addition of water on-site. Porcelpoint can fill joints from 2mm to 50mm wide, with a minimum target depth of 20mm, up to 200mm in one application. This highly fluid grout achieves a final compressive strength of 49.6N/mm’ (results achieved using 3.4 litres of water per 20kg bucket), and will reach initial set in 30 minutes. Porcelpoint porcelain paving grout will accept light foot traffic after just one hour, and cars after four hours (dependent upon temperature).
How to Mix & Apply UltraScape Porcelpoint – Flowable Porcelain Grout
Ensure that the paving joints are free from debris and all ponded water has been removed. The paving surface and joints must be pre-misted with water and kept damp until the jointing process has been completed. A 20KG bucket requires 3.4 litres of water and must be mixed for between 3 to 5 minutes until a smooth lump-free consistency has been achieved.
Once mixed, apply Porcelpoint without delay, it must be carefully forced into the joints using a suitable neoprene squeegee. The paving mortar should be constantly moved across the surface to repeatedly top up joints, as the mortar may slump following its initial placement. Use a neoprene squeegee to remove as much mortar as possible from the surface. The surface must be kept constantly damp using a soft spray of water. When the jointing mortar has hardened sufficiently, or achieved its initial set the paving surface must be cleaned using a brush and copious amounts of water. Cleaning must be carried out thoroughly and no mortar must be allowed to remain on the surface of the paving. We recommend an initial washdown to remove the bulk of the grout, and a final wash to remove any residue left over.
How long do I have to use up mixed UltraScape Porcelpoint?
Once mixed, Ultrascape Porcelpoint has approximately 5-15 minutes depending on the outside ambient temperature, to be used up.
UltraScape Porcelpoint Precautions
Please note that a small trial should be done to ensure compatibility with the tiles, paving or stone being used as the manufacturer lnstarmac cannot test all tile/stone types. Wash all tools with clean water frequently. Mix only enough material to apply in 4 minutes, we recommend one bucket at a time. Never remix or add extra water. Wear protective clothing, and avoid skin and eye contact – please note that wet cement can burn the skin.
It is important to remember that cool temperatures can retard, and warm temperatures will accelerate both the workability of the grout and set time. Care should be taken when using the product near drainage. You will need to make sure you have a run-off to take any excess grout away, such as lifting an area of grass, as it must not be allowed to go down a drain and into the watercourse. Ultrascape Porcelpoint is supplied in a bag within a bucket, please check the colour printed on the bag, matches the lid colour before use.
