"Be patient and hold your nerve so you don't wash the product off too soon. Too many contractors start washing off when the product starts to dry on the slabs. You need to keep the slabs damp with a mist of water so it doesn't go off on them too soon. Always make sure the grout is set in the joint before washing it off. Keep your eye on the firmness of the joint — just with a little thumb test. Once firm, then begin washing off."

"Some landscapers are stuck in their ways and they don't like change. Their attitude is, 'I've been doing this for 20 years… Why should I change now?' And some are quite rightly scared when they consider pouring a slurry grout directly onto their slabs — it goes against everything that you've been taught. But these products have been developed so they don't stick to the paving.

"It's also the speed at which you can install it. If you're going to be on your hands and knees with a trowel and a three-to-one mortar mix, it will take you about five times as long.
