Our FAQs help homeowners, landscapers, and contractors choose the right products, covering suitability, joint widths, setting times, colours, and installation for long-lasting, professional results.
Brush-in grout formulas are swept into joints and activated with water, ideal for permeable patios. Slurry grout is a cementitious-based formula mixed with water and poured over primed paving, making it suitable for porcelain, driveways and larger paved areas. Epoxy grout is resin-based, highly durable and stain resistant, and is also suitable for heavy-use areas.
Brush-in grouts and slurry grouts typically require joints of at least 3mm wide, though some finer formulas are suitable for joints from 2mm. Epoxy grouts are ideal for tighter joints, sometimes from 1mm. Always check the manufacturer’s minimum and maximum joint width before purchasing.

Yes. A primer is always recommended because it creates a secure bond between the bedding mortar and the paving slabs. Slabs that crack or break are often the result of them 'debonding' from the bedding mortar below.
Porous stone pavers should usually be pre-sealed before grouting to reduce staining risk and make future cleaning easier. As a non-porous stone, porcelain does not require sealing, unless you prefer a satin finish.
Grout coverage depends on slab size, thickness and joint width. Use our grout calculator (available for each product on our website) for accurate quantities to avoid under-ordering or waste.
