Our FAQs help homeowners, landscapers, and contractors choose the right products, covering suitability, joint widths, setting times, colours, and installation for long-lasting, professional results.
Brush-in grout is ideal for domestic patios with permeable sub-bases and joint widths of 3–5mm or more. It is quick to install and requires minimal mixing.
Standard brush-in grout is not recommended for heavy vehicle traffic. For driveways, use a high-strength slurry or epoxy grout designed for load-bearing areas.
Light moisture is acceptable for some products, but heavy rain during installation can wash out joints. Always follow manufacturer weather and installation guidance.
Most brush-in grouts require a minimum joint width of 3mm and a minimum depth of 20–25mm to ensure proper performance. Always check manufacturer guidelines.
When installed correctly on a suitable base, brush-in grout can last several years. Longevity depends on traffic levels, drainage and maintenance.
