About the product

Nexus ProJoint TITAN | Two-Part Epoxy Paving Grout for Natural Stone & Concrete

'Universal Epoxy Paving Grout – Best For Natural Stone & Manmade Paving' — Now in 5 Colours

Nexus ProJoint TITAN is one of the best epoxy paving grouts on the market — an excellent example of this new hybrid breed that works on all bed types, permeable and non-permeable alike. It's a product our customers consistently come back to tell us they're delighted with: easy to use, long-lasting, and it does exactly what it says on the tin.

Rated to carry vehicles up to 10 tonnes, suitable for joint widths from 5mm, and available in five colours — TITAN is a professional-strength grout that's equally at home on a domestic patio or a commercial driveway.

We're a small, family-run business — I'm Cleo, the owner, with over 25 years in the construction industry, having worked with businesses such as Tarmac and Instarmac. I work alongside a team of incredibly knowledgeable and caring individuals, and between us we've seen a lot of paving grouts come and go.

If you've got a driveway, a heavily trafficked patio, or a path that takes vehicle loads — TITAN is a product we'd confidently recommend for virtually any slab: sandstone, limestone, granite, travertine, slate, marble, quartzite, concrete, clay pavers, setts and cobbles. The only exception is porcelain — for that, see our ProJoint RapidFlow or Nexus ProJoint TileJam.

Nexus ProJoint TITAN is a super high-strength, two-part epoxy patio grout designed for both natural stone and concrete paving slabs and tiles. With a robust formulation it is ideal for areas of high traffic such as driveways, general foot traffic, paths and patios and can carry vehicles up to 10 tonnes. This super strong epoxy paving grout is self-compacting and accommodates joint widths starting from 5mm, ensuring a durable and professional finish. Once cured, Nexus ProJoint TITAN provides a weed-free, frost-resistant joint that withstands pressure washing, which eases long-term maintenance.

Nexus ProJoint TITAN comes in a 22.5KG tub with pre-mixed resin and sand, requiring only the addition of the included hardener — simplifying the application process considerably. No complicated mixing ratios, no specialist equipment, just a straightforward application that delivers professional results. One 22.5KG tub fills joint widths from 5mm wide & 25mm deep, with an average coverage of 8–10m² per tub (dependent on joint width/depth).

ProJoint TITAN can be used on both permeable and non-permeable bedding mixes, making it doubly versatile for paving contractors and homeowners alike. Available in five colours — Neutral/Buff, Mid Grey, Basalt, Forged Grey & Ironstone — TITAN offers aesthetic versatility to complement all types of natural stone and concrete slabs, tiles, pavers, setts and cobbles.

Permeable or Non-Permeable? Choosing the Right Jointing Compound

This is one of the questions we get asked most — and it's an important one. Getting it wrong can cause staining, algae, cracking and joint failure down the line.

Your paving construction determines the correct grout.

Permeable paving → water drains through the joints into the ground.

Non-permeable paving → water must drain across the surface.

Using the wrong jointing compound can trap moisture and cause staining, algae, cracking and joint failure. Always ask yourself: "Where is the water going to go?"

This grout is suitable for both bed types — but not porcelain slabs. Use Nexus ProJoint TileJam if you have porcelain slabs.

Expert Advice: Frequently Asked Questions about Nexus ProJoint TITAN

I'm Cleo, owner of The Paving Experts, with over 25 years in the construction industry, having worked with businesses such as Tarmac and Instarmac. I work alongside a small team of incredibly knowledgeable and caring individuals who share the same passion for getting it right. The FAQ answers below come from the questions we're asked every single day — so if yours isn't there, just give us a call.

What is Nexus ProJoint TITAN?

Nexus ProJoint TITAN is a high-strength, two-part epoxy paving grout for natural stone, concrete and manmade paving. It is suitable for pedestrian and vehicular areas up to 10 tonnes, making it ideal for driveways, patios and paths. Once cured, it is designed to resist weeds, frost and pressure washing. Using ProJoint TITAN saves time, money and removes the need to come back and redo the job in another year.

What grout colours are available?

ProJoint TITAN is currently available in five colours: Neutral/Buff, Mid Grey, Basalt, Forged Grey and Ironstone. The lid colour denotes the product colour — white for Neutral, pale grey for Mid-Grey, and dark grey for Basalt, Ironstone and Forged Grey. Sand is a natural product so some minimal colour variance may occur — contact us for a sample.

What size tub is Nexus ProJoint TITAN available in?

Nexus ProJoint TITAN is packaged in a vacuum packed pouch within a 22.5KG tub. For larger projects, we also supply full pallets of 40 tubs, which can be a combination of product/colour.

What types of paving can Nexus ProJoint TITAN be used with?

TITAN can be used with sandstone, limestone, travertine, granite, basalt, slate, marble, quartzite, concrete and other manmade paving slabs, clay pavers, setts and cobbles. It is ideal for medium to heavy traffic areas up to ten tonnes, including driveways, patios and pathways. It is not recommended for porcelain paving.

Can ProJoint TITAN be used on driveways?

Yes. TITAN is a high-strength epoxy paving grout specifically designed for vehicular areas carrying vehicles up to 10 tonnes. It is suitable for natural stone, concrete and manmade paving and can be used with permeable or non-permeable bedding.

Is ProJoint TITAN suitable for heavy traffic?

Yes. TITAN is designed for vehicular areas up to 10 tonnes and is suitable for driveways and other heavily trafficked paved areas. For loads above 10 tonnes, a higher-rated jointing system should be used.

Can Nexus ProJoint TITAN be used with porcelain?

No — and this is important. TITAN is not recommended for use with porcelain or some darker limestones such as black limestone, as it can cause slight oxidisation. On natural stone, the slight sheen TITAN leaves looks great — it enhances the natural colours and hues within the stone. On porcelain however, this resin sheen can leave uneven patches due to the density and impermeable nature of porcelain. We'd suggest Nexus ProJoint RapidFlow or Nexus ProJoint TileJam instead.

Is Nexus ProJoint TITAN permeable?

Yes — TITAN is a permeable epoxy paving grout and can be used with both permeable and non-permeable bedding mortars, allowing water to drain through the joints and helping to prevent puddles or water buildup on your paving. For a fully permeable system, the bedding must also be permeable.

What are the minimum joint sizes for ProJoint TITAN?

ProJoint TITAN is suitable for joints from 5mm wide and 25mm deep. The paving must be firmly bedded and the joints clean and free from debris before application.

Is ProJoint TITAN weed resistant?

Yes — once cured, TITAN creates a hard, weed-free joint that prevents weed growth in your patio or paved area.

Is ProJoint TITAN frost resistant?

Yes — TITAN is resistant to frost and cold temperatures without risk of cracking or breaking out of joints, making it an excellent choice for the UK climate.

Can you pressure wash Nexus ProJoint TITAN?

Yes. Once fully cured, TITAN is resistant to pressure washing. Use a fan nozzle, keep the nozzle at a sensible distance and avoid concentrating high pressure directly onto the joints. Keep the pressure washer at a 45-degree angle to your paving slabs to avoid damaging the joints.

How many tubs of ProJoint TITAN do I need?

Coverage depends on the paving size and joint width and depth. A 22.5kg tub can typically cover around 8–10m², but large-format paving with narrow joints can achieve considerably higher coverage. See the coverage tables above for specific estimates, or contact us and we'll be happy to help with an accurate calculation.

Do I need to pre-seal the paving slabs before using Nexus ProJoint TITAN?

Not always — but we highly recommend it for certain paving types, especially porous or textured surfaces.

Pre-seal when using:
✅ Porous Natural Stone – Sandstone, limestone, and some granites may absorb resin, causing staining.
✅ Textured or Riven Surfaces – These can trap excess grout, making cleaning difficult.
✅ Lightly Coloured or Polished Stones – To prevent potential discolouration from resin residues.

Pre-sealing may not be needed for:
❌ Non-Porous or Dense Stones – Some granites, basalts and quartzites are less likely to absorb resin.
❌ Smooth, Non-Absorbent Concrete Slabs – These usually clean easily without sealing.

If in doubt, always do a small test area first. And if you're less experienced with paving, a pre-grout sealant like Nexus ProJoint Pre-Grout Stone & Porcelain Sealer washes away quickly after application and gives you real peace of mind.

When should I pre-seal my paving?

We recommend pre-sealing porous natural stone, textured or riven paving and light-coloured or polished surfaces. Always test a small area first if you're unsure.

How do I prepare the area for grouting?

Ensure the paving is firmly bedded and stable, with clean joints at least 5mm wide and 25mm deep. Remove all dirt and debris, then thoroughly wet the paving before applying TITAN. Take care to ensure no soil or dirt is left on the surface or walked onto the paving during application — once the resin cures, anything trapped in it will stay there.

What tools do I need to apply ProJoint TITAN?

You will need clean water, a paddle mixer, rubber squeegee and wet medium-soft brush. A finishing bar or trowel can also be used if required. Pre-grout sealer may be needed depending on the paving type.

What's the ideal temperature for applying ProJoint TITAN?

For best results, apply TITAN when the temperature is between 3°C and 25°C. Avoid very cold or frosty conditions below 3°C, and avoid applying in high heat above 25°C, as both can affect curing and leave joints tacky or not fully set. Ideally, aim for around 15–20°C. Take particular care on dark paving in direct sunlight, as surface temperatures can be significantly higher than air temperature.

Can I apply ProJoint TITAN in the rain?

We recommend applying TITAN in dry conditions. Heavy rain during application can affect the finish and curing process, so protect the area if rain is expected.

How can I minimise resin sheen?

Thoroughly wet the paving before application, use a suitable pre-grout sealer where required and remove excess grout promptly using a wet medium-soft brush at a 45° angle. Continue cleaning the paving before the resin cures. The sheen is temporary — with weathering, foot traffic and time it will typically fade fully within 2–3 months.

What is the resin sheen on my paving after applying TITAN — will it fade?

Due to the high epoxy resin content, you'll get a slight sheen that darkens and enhances the natural surface colours and textures of your paving. This is particularly noticeable on grey paving such as granite, so a test area is always advised. Spread the mix across the total paving area to ensure any effect is uniform. The sheen is temporary — with weathering, foot traffic and time (around 1 week to 6 months) it will disappear, typically fading fully within 2–3 months.

How do I apply ProJoint TITAN?

Thoroughly wet the paving, add the complete hardener to the tub and mix for approximately 3 minutes until a smooth, free-flowing slurry forms. Spread the slurry over the wet paving with a rubber squeegee, work it into the joints and leave for 5–15 minutes to allow foaming to disappear. Clean the surface with a wet, medium-soft brush at a 45° angle before the grout cures. Due to its fluid nature, no further compaction of the joint is required.

How long does Nexus ProJoint TITAN take to cure?

At around 20°C, TITAN can normally accept foot traffic after approximately 12 hours and light vehicle traffic after around 24 hours. Cooler conditions and moisture will extend cure times — don't worry if joints aren't touch-hard within a few days, they'll continue to cure and reach full strength over the coming weeks.

Why is the surface of my paving tacky after applying TITAN?

Tacky patches are usually caused by resin residue remaining on the paving surface. This is why it is important to keep the paving wet during application and thoroughly remove excess grout before it cures. If you're already past that point, give us a call and we can recommend a grout haze remover such as Lithofin.

How long does the resin layer stay on the paving?

It can take on average between one week to six months for the resinous sheen to disappear. On average it would normally take around 2–3 months to fade fully.

How can I stop the resin sheen from forming?

We recommend using a sealer such as ProJoint Pre-Grout before pointing your patio or paved area. This sealer provides a barrier which prevents the epoxy from adhering or penetrating into the surface. Using this in conjunction with a wet medium-soft brush at a 45-degree angle to the joints while jointing will eliminate any resin sheen after use.

What is the shelf life of ProJoint TITAN?

ProJoint TITAN has a 12-month shelf life from the date of manufacture when stored correctly. Store unopened tubs in a cool, dry, frost-free environment. Using the product after the declared storage period may increase the risk of an allergic reaction.

Can leftover mixed TITAN be stored?

No — once the hardener has been added and the product mixed, it begins to cure and cannot be stored for later use. Only mix what you can use within the working time.

What temperatures can I apply Nexus ProJoint TITAN?

For best results, apply TITAN when the temperature is between 3°C and 25°C. Avoid very cold or frosty conditions below 3°C, and avoid applying in high heat above 25°C, as both can affect curing and leave joints tacky or not fully set.

Is ProJoint TITAN better than traditional cement pointing?

For driveways and higher-traffic areas, TITAN offers clear advantages including high strength, weed resistance, frost resistance and pressure-washer resistance once cured. Traditional mortar pointing can crack, allow weeds, and requires regular maintenance — TITAN is a permanent, weed-free solution that won't need redoing in a year or two. The best jointing product ultimately depends on the paving, bedding system and intended use.

Is ProJoint TITAN better than standard resin jointing compound?

TITAN is a two-part epoxy resin system designed for higher-strength applications, including vehicular areas up to 10 tonnes. Standard brush-in resin products may be more suitable for pedestrian patios and paths, but for driveways and heavy-traffic areas, TITAN's superior strength and durability make it one of the best resin grouts for paving available.

How do I mix & apply Nexus ProJoint TITAN Epoxy Paving Grout?

Preparation

  1. Make sure your paving is firmly bedded and stable before you start filling the joints — it should be laid on a bedding material suitable for the intended traffic loading (up to 10 tonnes). ProJoint TITAN works on both permeable and non-permeable bedding. Joints must be a minimum of 5mm wide and 25mm deep.
  2. Take care to ensure no soil or dirt is left on the surface or walked onto the paving during application — once the resin cures, anything trapped in it will stay there.
  3. Before grouting, apply ProJoint Pre-Grout Sealer to shield the pavers from any resin sheen.
  4. Liberally wet the paving prior to mixing and allow the water to soak into the surface. Check that the surface temperature is between 3°C and 25°C before you begin.

Mixing

  1. Remove the bottle of hardener from the tub.
  2. Open carefully and empty the entire bottle into the resin and sand mix.
  3. Using a plasterer's whisk, mix for approximately 3 minutes until the mixture becomes a free-flowing slurry.

Application

  1. Check the paving is still wet and the surface temperature is still between 3°C and 25°C. If the surface has dried out, mist it again before continuing. Do not allow the paving to dry out during application — take particular care when working on dark paving in direct sunlight, as high surface temperatures can significantly reduce your working time.
  2. Empty the mixed grout directly onto the paving surface.
  3. Use a squeegee to move the slurry across the paved area, ensuring all joints are completely filled.
  4. Leave for 5–15 minutes to allow the foaming in the slurry to disappear.
  5. Using a wet, medium-soft brush held at a 45° angle to the joints, sweep off the excess material, leaving the paving clean.
  6. It's particularly important to sweep the surface multiple times before the product cures — any remaining residue that sets on the paving surface will be very difficult to remove.
  7. Do not add additional water to the surface at this stage.
  8. Due to its fluid nature, no further compaction of the joint is required. If you'd like a more traditional finish, a trowel or jointing iron can be pulled across the joint once curing has begun.

Important: ProJoint TITAN is not suitable for porcelain paving. For porcelain applications, see Nexus ProJoint RapidFlow or Nexus Porcelain Grout.

ProJoint Titan is a high-strength, two-part epoxy paving grout designed for vehicle areas up to 10 tonnes. It’s suitable for natural stone, manmade paving, driveways, patios, and pathways.
