Our FAQs help homeowners, landscapers, and contractors choose the right products, covering suitability, joint widths, setting times, colours, and installation for long-lasting, professional results.
Use a pre-grout sealer when working with porous natural stone such as sandstone or limestone to minimise the risk of grout staining.
It significantly reduces staining risk but does not make the surface fully stain-proof. Careful installation and cleaning are still required. Use this as your water to dampen your slabs, leave 1st coat for 20 minutes, then apply a second coat, leave for an hour, then use your Flowpoint, Fuga-Pave, Titan or Dynamic as normal. Once you have applied your sealer, do not dampen your slabs before using your grout, otherwise you will wash it off.
Follow the manufacturer’s drying guidance. Most pre-sealers require the surface to be dry before grouting begins.
Not always. Porcelain is non-porous and generally does not require pre-sealing before grouting. However, specialist sealers are available that can provide additional protection, particularly for some lower-grade porcelain products.
