ProJoint PRO-410 Colour Enhancing Paving Sealer is a high-quality, solvent-based surface sealer that can be applied to all types of natural stone. It impregnates the stone and protects surfaces from water penetration, staining and the effects of natural weathering while remaining breathable.
PRO-410 enhances the natural colours within the stone without changing the texture of the surface. It can be used on virtually all porous surfaces, particularly high-quality natural stone, and is suitable for outdoor and indoor applications.

What is ProJoint PRO-410 used for?

Important before using PRO-410
IMPORTANT: Freshly laid paving must be left for a minimum of 8 weeks to allow moisture within the paving to disappear before sealing.
Always test PRO-410 on a small, inconspicuous area before treating the whole surface. PRO-410 is not designed for porcelain paving and is not recommended as a replacement for a pre-grout sealer. If you need to protect paving before grouting, use the appropriate ProJoint Pre-Grout Sealer instead.
How to use ProJoint PRO-410
- IMPORTANT: Leave freshly laid paving for a minimum of 8 weeks to allow moisture within the paving to disappear.
- Clean the paving thoroughly before application. We recommend PaveCare Paving & Driveway Cleaner for cleaning paving and driveways before sealing.
- Always test PRO-410 on a small, inconspicuous area first and check the result before treating the whole surface.
- Apply PRO-410 as a single coat, following the current product instructions and technical datasheet.
- Work carefully across the prepared surface so the sealer penetrates the porous substrate and the matt finish remains even.

What is ProJoint PRO-410?

What type of paving can PRO-410 be used on?
PRO-410 is designed for porous natural stone and concrete paving, and is particularly suited to high-quality natural stone. Natural stone varies in porosity and appearance, so always test a small, inconspicuous area first.
Can PRO-410 be used on porcelain paving?
No. PRO-410 is not designed for porcelain paving. Porcelain has a very low-porosity surface and requires a product specifically formulated for porcelain where sealing is appropriate. Contact us before ordering if you are unsure which product you need.
Can PRO-410 be used on concrete?
Yes. PRO-410 can be used on porous concrete surfaces, subject to the condition and suitability of the surface. Always carry out a test area first.
Does PRO-410 change the colour of natural stone?
It is designed to bring out the natural colours within the stone. It does not create an artificial colour, but the stone may appear richer or deeper once sealed. Always test an area first.
Does PRO-410 give a glossy finish?
No. PRO-410 has a matt finish and does not create a high-gloss or artificial-looking surface.
Will PRO-410 change the texture of my paving?
No. It penetrates into the surface rather than creating a thick surface coating and is designed to maintain the existing texture.
Is PRO-410 breathable?
Yes. PRO-410 is a breathable penetrating sealer, allowing paving to release moisture vapour while providing protection against water penetration.
How long should I wait before sealing newly laid paving?
A minimum of 8 weeks. Freshly laid paving must be left for at least 8 weeks to allow moisture within the paving to dissipate before PRO-410 is applied. Do not rush the sealing stage.
Can PRO-410 be used on existing paving?
Yes, provided the paving is suitable, clean and suitably dry. Remove dirt, algae, previous treatments and contaminants appropriately, then test a small area first.
Can PRO-410 be used on driveways?
Yes, provided the driveway is constructed from a suitable porous natural stone or concrete surface. It can help protect against water penetration, staining, dirt, grime and natural weathering.
Can PRO-410 be used on patios and garden paths?
Yes. It is well suited to porous natural stone patios, paths and other external paving areas, helping enhance the natural colour while providing protection.
Can homeowners use PRO-410 themselves?

Is PRO-410 suitable for paving contractors?

How much PRO-410 will I need?
Coverage is approximately 4.5–7m² per litre, depending on the porosity of the paving. As a guide, a 5-litre container could cover approximately 22.5–35m², depending on the substrate.
Is PRO-410 a single-coat product?
Yes. PRO-410 is designed for single-coat application. Correct preparation is particularly important with highly porous natural stone.
Does PRO-410 protect against staining?
Yes. It helps protect against staining, dirt and grime, water penetration and natural weathering. It is not stain-proof, so spills should still be cleaned quickly.
Does PRO-410 help prevent algae?
It provides resistance against dirt, grime and algae, helping suitable paving stay cleaner for longer. It will not prevent organic growth completely, as shade, moisture and vegetation can contribute to algae growth.
Is PRO-410 UV stable?
Yes. PRO-410 is UV stable and provides long-lasting protection against natural weathering.
Does PRO-410 make paving waterproof?
No. It is a water-repellent penetrating sealer, not a waterproofing membrane. It should be used alongside correct paving construction and drainage.
Can PRO-410 be used instead of a pre-grout sealer?
No. PRO-410 is not recommended as a replacement for a dedicated pre-grout sealer. For protection before grouting, use a product specifically designed for pre-grouting protection, such as ProJoint Pre-Grout Sealer.
Can I apply PRO-410 before grouting?
No. PRO-410 is not designed as a pre-grout sealer. Contact us about the appropriate product for your paving.
Why should I test PRO-410 first?
Natural stone varies in colour, density, porosity and texture. A test area shows how the sealer affects your particular stone before treating the entire area.
What happens if I seal paving that is too wet?
The paving needs to be suitably dry before sealing. Excess moisture can affect performance and the finished result. This is why the minimum 8-week period for freshly laid paving is important.
Can PRO-410 be applied in all weather conditions?
No sealer should be applied without considering the conditions. The surface should be clean and suitably dry, and solvent-based product instructions regarding ventilation, weather and application conditions should be followed.
Is PRO-410 suitable for high-quality natural stone?
Yes. It is particularly suited to porous, high-quality natural stone, enhancing natural colour while providing protection. Always test first.
