UltraScape Flowpoint Natural Grey is a fast-curing, flowable, cement-based paving grout that produces a fluid slurry when mixed with water on site. It's poured across the paving surface, worked into joints with a neoprene squeegee, and cleaned off to leave strong, weed-resistant, non-permeable joints. And some are quite rightly scared when they consider pouring Flowpoint onto their slabs — at the end of the day, you are pouring a cementitious slurry directly onto the pavers. 1. What is UltraScape Flowpoint?

UltraScape Flowpoint is a rapid-setting, flowable cement-based grout for jointing external paving. Pre-mixed and supplied in 25kg showerproof bags, it requires only the addition of water on site. It conforms to BS 7533 and is designed for use on landscaping, public realm, pathways and carriageways — setting in 15 minutes at 20°C and lasting up to 40 years.

2. How quickly does UltraScape Flowpoint set?

Initial set in 15 minutes at 20°C. Foot traffic after 1 hour, vehicular traffic after 4 hours. Colder temperatures slow the set; warmer conditions accelerate it. Always use the thumb test before cleaning down — if the joint still feels soft, wait longer.

3. What joint widths can UltraScape Flowpoint be used for?

Flowpoint Standard handles joints from 5mm to 50mm wide and 20mm to 200mm deep. For joints narrower than 5mm, consider Flowpoint Smooth (from 3mm) or Flowpoint Fine (from 2mm). Call us if you're unsure which grade is right for your project.

4. Can UltraScape Flowpoint be used on natural stone?

Yes — Flowpoint is widely used on sandstone, limestone, Indian Stone, Yorkstone and granite setts. Always trial your specific stone first. For darker limestones such as black limestone, apply a temporary pre-sealer like Tile Rite Patio Prep first to prevent oxidisation.

5. How do you apply UltraScape Flowpoint?

Pre-soak the paving and remove all ponded water. Add 4.25 litres of clean water per 25kg bag and mix for 3–5 minutes until smooth. Pour onto the paving and work into joints with a neoprene squeegee, keeping the surface misted. Once initial set is reached, clean down with a brush and plenty of water.

6. How much water per 25kg bag?

Exactly 4.25 litres. Mix for 3–5 minutes until smooth and pourable. Only prepare what you can place in around 4 minutes — never add more water or remix once the grout has started to go off.

7. Can Flowpoint be used in the rain?

Yes — light rain is fine and damp conditions can extend your working window. Ensure joints are clear of ponded water before you start, and avoid applying during heavy rain or when frost is forecast within 24 hours.

8. What colours does UltraScape Flowpoint come in?

Flowpoint Standard is available in Natural Grey and Charcoal. For a broader palette — Stone Grey, Limestone and Yorkstone — the Flowpoint Premium range offers the same performance in additional tones.

9. Is Flowpoint permeable?

No — Flowpoint is a non-permeable cementitious grout. It must be used on a solid, non-permeable bed. If you require a permeable jointing solution, contact us and we'll advise.

10. Do I need to pre-seal my slabs before using Flowpoint?

With a temporary pre-sealer (such as Tile Rite Patio Prep or Nexus ProJoint Pre-Grout): do not pre-soak — the sealer replaces this step.
Without a sealer: wet the paving thoroughly, then remove all standing water. The surface should be damp, not waterlogged.

11. What is the shelf life of Flowpoint?

8 months from the date of manufacture, printed on the white strip on the side of each bag. Store in a cool, dry, frost-free environment, clear of the ground. Using the product beyond the declared storage period may increase the risk of an allergic reaction.

Flowpoint Fine and Porcelpoint require 3.4 litres per 20kg bucket; Flowpoint Standard, Smooth, ECO and Premium require 4.25 litres per 25kg bag.
