How to Mix & Apply Flowpoint Premium Stone Grey
Two approaches — with or without a temporary pre-sealer:
Without a pre-sealer:
- Clear joints of debris and remove all standing water.
- Thoroughly pre-soak the paving surface and joints. Then remove all ponded water — a leaf blower works well. The surface should be damp, not waterlogged.
- Keep the surface moist throughout application with a light water spray.
With a temporary pre-sealer (e.g. Tile Rite Patio Prep):
- Apply sealer in advance and allow to dry as per product instructions.
- Do not pre-soak — the sealer acts as the protective barrier. Remove standing water from joints before starting.
Mixing
- Add 4.25 litres of clean water per 25KG bag. Mix with a paddle mixer for 3–5 minutes until smooth and lump-free.
- Only mix what you can apply in approx. 4 minutes. Never store liquid mortar or add extra water once mixed.
Application
- Pour mixed grout onto the paving and force into joints using a long-handled neoprene squeegee.
- Work methodically across the surface, topping up any joints where mortar has slumped.
- Squeegee off as much excess mortar as possible as you go.
- Once the joint is firm (thumb test — firm, no bleed), clean down thoroughly with brush and copious clean water. No mortar to remain on surface.
Trafficking: foot traffic after 1 hour | vehicles after 4 hours. Cool temperatures retard set; warm temperatures accelerate it. Do not apply below 3°C or in direct sunlight.

How to Apply — Quick Reference
- Ensure joints are free from debris and all ponded water is removed.

How to Mix & Apply Flowpoint Premium Stone Grey
Two approaches — with or without a temporary pre-sealer:
Without a pre-sealer:
- Clear joints of debris and remove all standing water.
- Thoroughly pre-soak the paving surface and joints. Then remove all ponded water — a leaf blower works well. The surface should be damp, not waterlogged.
- Keep the surface moist throughout application with a light water spray.
With a temporary pre-sealer (e.g. Tile Rite Patio Prep):
- Apply sealer in advance and allow to dry as per product instructions.
- Do not pre-soak — the sealer acts as the protective barrier. Remove standing water from joints before starting.
Mixing
- Add 4.25 litres of clean water per 25KG bag. Mix with a paddle mixer for 3–5 minutes until smooth and lump-free.
- Only mix what you can apply in approx. 4 minutes. Never store liquid mortar or add extra water once mixed.
Application
- Pour mixed grout onto the paving and force into joints using a long-handled neoprene squeegee.
- Work methodically across the surface, topping up any joints where mortar has slumped.
- Squeegee off as much excess mortar as possible as you go.
- Once the joint is firm (thumb test — firm, no bleed), clean down thoroughly with brush and copious clean water. No mortar to remain on surface.
Trafficking: foot traffic after 1 hour | vehicles after 4 hours. Cool temperatures retard set; warm temperatures accelerate it. Do not apply below 3°C or in direct sunlight.

What size joints can Flowpoint Premium be used for?
Flowpoint Premium Standard can be used for joints from 5mm to 50mm wide, while Flowpoint Premium Smooth is suitable for joints from 3mm to 50mm wide. Both variants can be used at joint depths from 20mm to 200mm.
I want a Stone Grey finish with no visible aggregate — is there a fine version available?
Yes — Porcelpoint Stone Grey is the product you need. Porcelpoint is essentially the fine, aggregate-free version of Flowpoint, available in Stone Grey and Limestone. It’s specifically formulated for porcelain and smooth-faced natural stone where no visible aggregate is required, and handles joints from 2mm to 50mm. If you want the premium Stone Grey colour but with a completely smooth, fine finish, Porcelpoint is the right choice.
How quickly does Flowpoint Premium set?
Flowpoint Premium has an initial set time of approximately 30 minutes, depending on temperature and site conditions. It can accept light foot traffic after approximately 1 hour and vehicular traffic after approximately 4 hours.

Do I need to pre-seal?
Not essential, but recommended for porous or pale stones. If using a pre-sealer like Tile Rite Patio Prep, skip the water pre-soak — the sealer does the same job. If not using a sealer, thoroughly wet the paving and remove all standing water before you start.
Is it permeable?
No — it creates a rigid, non-permeable joint. Must be laid on a solid, non-permeable bed with adequate drainage fall.
What’s the shelf life?
8 months from manufacture (printed on the bag), stored sealed in cool, dry, frost-free conditions.

Our delivery charges are calculated based on the size and weight of your order. When you add items to your basket, the delivery charges are displayed. Small orders are distributed via courier; larger orders via Pallet Network. Collection is available from our Tamworth depot by request (contact us first to arrange on 0330 122 1025).

How to Mix & Apply Flowpoint Premium Stone Grey
Two approaches — with or without a temporary pre-sealer:
Without a pre-sealer:
- Clear joints of debris and remove all standing water.
- Thoroughly pre-soak the paving surface and joints. Then remove all ponded water — a leaf blower works well. The surface should be damp, not waterlogged.
- Keep the surface moist throughout application with a light water spray.
With a temporary pre-sealer (e.g. Tile Rite Patio Prep):
- Apply sealer in advance and allow to dry as per product instructions.
- Do not pre-soak — the sealer acts as the protective barrier. Remove standing water from joints before starting.
Mixing
- Add 4.25 litres of clean water per 25KG bag. Mix with a paddle mixer for 3–5 minutes until smooth and lump-free.
- Only mix what you can apply in approx. 4 minutes. Never store liquid mortar or add extra water once mixed.
Application
- Pour mixed grout onto the paving and force into joints using a long-handled neoprene squeegee.
- Work methodically across the surface, topping up any joints where mortar has slumped.
- Squeegee off as much excess mortar as possible as you go.
- Once the joint is firm (thumb test — firm, no bleed), clean down thoroughly with brush and copious clean water. No mortar to remain on surface.
Trafficking: foot traffic after 1 hour | vehicles after 4 hours. Cool temperatures retard set; warm temperatures accelerate it. Do not apply below 3°C or in direct sunlight.
