We've sold over 50,072 bags of Flowpoint in the last 3 years?
Did you know that we've sold over 50,072 bags of UltraScape Flowpoint Paving Grout in the last 3 years alone! That's how much our customers love this rapid set, durable, cost effective slurry grout!
How long does Flowpoint Premium Grout last?
When applied correctly, Flowpoint Premium slurry paving grout can last beyond twenty years without the need to grout the paving again.
How long does Flowpoint Premium Grout take to set?
After mixing, Flowpoint Premium can take as little as 15-30 minutes to set (temperature is 20oC). However, as a rule of thumb - the hotter the temperature, the faster Flowpoint will set, in colder temperatures it'll take a little longer for Flowpoint to set. The secret is to keep the area misted with light spray of water, and keep checking the joints for firmness, once you get a very light thumbprint it's pretty much set, start with a light wash off with water and a soft brush, and then a second wash with a stiffer brush to remove any stubborn grout left behind. For hints & tips on how to lay flowpoint, click here.
Is Flowpoint Premium Grout permeable?
No, Flowpoint Premium Paving Grout is a non-permeable, cementitious-based grout - this means that it doesn’t allow water to pass through it once set. You'll need a fall on the patio to allow water to drain off the surface.
How many bags of Flowpoint Premium Paving Grout do I need?
The number of bags of Flowpoint Premium needed to joint between paving slabs, tiles or setts depends on the area in square metres that you have to pave, the width and length of your slabs, and the width and depth of your joints. Under the image above, you will find a handy calculator to help you work this out. But, as a general rule of thumb, for larger format porcelain tiles 600mm x 900mm; with a joint width of 5mm and depth of 20mm you'll use one bag of Flowpoint Premium per 30m2. For a mixed pack of sandstone slabs you'll use one bag on average for every 20m2, and for granite setts that are much smaller in area and have a need for a deeper joint you'll use on average one bag per 1.5-2m2.
For an accurate calculation, using your exact slab dimensions and patio area, please refer to our calculator above.
Can you use Flowpoint Premium Grout in the rain?
Yes, you can use Flowpoint in light rain but ensure the paving joints don't fill up with rainwater. Applying Flowpoint on a damp day can actually be beneficial, because it can stop the wet slurry from setting too quickly. Too much water in your joints? A handy tip is to use a leaf blower to blow the water out of joints, and off your patio.
What is the Shelf Life for Flowpoint Premium Slurry Paving Grout?
Shelf life from date of manufacture printed on the bag, unopened in the above conditions, for sealed bags is 8 months. Please note: the use of this product after the end of the declared storage period may increase the risk of an allergic reaction.

How to Mix & Apply Flowpoint Premium Paving Grout
- Ensure your paving slabs and joints are free from debris and any ponded water.
- Pre-soak the surface of slabs and joints with water to make them damp, but not flooded.
- Pour a 25KG bag of Flowpoint Premium into a bucket and add 4.25 litres of clean water.
- Mix for 3–5 minutes until you achieve a smooth, lump-free consistency.
- Keep the area damp and apply the mixture immediately. Push Flowpoint into the joints using a rubber or neoprene squeegee. Note: Flowpoint can start setting within 15 minutes at 20°C, so monitor carefully.
- Move the grout across the surface to top-up any joints where the mortar has sunk.
- Use a neoprene squeegee to remove excess grout from the slab surfaces, keeping them damp to prevent hardening.
- Use a brush with water, or a pressure washer/sponge machine, to remove any hardened grout from the surface.
- After ~30 minutes, when the mortar is dry, clean the slabs thoroughly to remove any spots and prevent staining.
- Your newly grouted patio is ready to walk on after 1 hour and can take vehicles after 4 hours.
