How to Apply — Quick Reference

1. Ensure joints are free from debris and all ponded water is removed.
2. Pre-soak paving surface and joints with water — keep damp throughout the jointing process.
3. Add 4.25L of clean water per 25KG bag. Mix with a paddle mixer for 3–5 minutes until smooth and lump-free.
4. Apply without delay — do not store liquid mortar. Mix only what you can apply in approx. 4 minutes.
5. Pour over paving and force into joints using a long-handled neoprene squeegee. Keep surface constantly damp.
6. Move grout across the surface repeatedly to top up joints where mortar has slumped.
7. Squeegee off as much mortar as possible from the surface.
8. Once initial set is achieved (thumb test — firm, no bleed), clean down with a brush and copious clean water. No mortar to remain on surface.

A small trial is recommended to confirm compatibility with your specific stone type before full application.

Is Flowpoint ECO really as strong as Standard?

What size joints can it be used for?

5mm to 50mm wide, 20–200mm deep in a single application. For joints narrower than 5mm, see Flowpoint Smooth (3mm minimum) or Flowpoint Fine (2mm minimum).

What is the set time?

Initial set is approximately 15 minutes at 20°C, full set 30 minutes. Cool temperatures retard this; warm temperatures accelerate it. Open to foot traffic after 1 hour, vehicles after 4 hours.

How much water do I add?

4.25 litres per 25KG bag. Mix for 3–5 minutes with a paddle mixer until smooth and lump-free. Never add extra water or remix once set has begun.

Can Flowpoint ECO be used in the rain?

Yes — light rain is fine. Clear standing water from joints before application.

Can it be used on granite setts?

Yes — well suited to granite setts. Coverage approx. 1.5–2m² per 25KG bag on setts due to joint volume.

Can it be used on black limestone?

With care — use a temporary pre-sealer such as Tile Rite Patio Prep to prevent oxidisation. Call us if unsure about a specific stone.

Is Flowpoint ECO permeable?

No — it creates a rigid, bound, non-permeable joint. Must be used on a solid, non-permeable bed.

Do I need to pre-seal before grouting?

With a pre-sealer (e.g. Tile Rite Patio Prep): apply in advance, skip the water pre-soak.
Without a sealer: thoroughly wet paving, remove all standing water. Damp, not waterlogged.

What’s the shelf life?

8 months from manufacture (printed on bag), stored sealed in cool, dry, frost-free conditions.
