About the product

UltraScape Flowpoint ECO Natural Grey — Rapid-Set Flowable Paving Grout | 25KG Bag

'The Same Flowpoint Performance — With 20% Recycled Content, CEEQUAL & BREEAM Credentials, and a 49.6N/mm² Compressive Strength'

Flowpoint ECO Natural Grey is one of the best eco-friendly slurry paving grouts on the market — an excellent example of what happens when high performance and environmental responsibility meet in a single product. It contains 20% recycled glass, significantly reducing the consumption of virgin aggregates, and is ideal for schemes working toward a CEEQUAL ‘Excellent’ award or requiring a BREEAM assessment. It delivers the same rapid-set, flowable performance as standard Flowpoint — joints from 5–50mm, initial set in 15 minutes at 20°C, open to vehicles in 4 hours, compressive strength of 49.6N/mm² — and it lasts up to 40 years.

We're a small, family-run business — I'm Cleo, the owner, with over 25 years in the construction industry, having worked with businesses such as Tarmac and Instarmac. I work alongside a team of incredibly knowledgeable and caring individuals, and between us we’ve seen a lot of paving grouts come and go. Flowpoint ECO is the one we recommend when a project needs to stack up environmentally as well as technically — and it does both without compromise.

  8. Once initial set is achieved (thumb test — firm, no bleed), clean down with a brush and copious clean water. No mortar to remain on surface.

A small trial is recommended to confirm compatibility with your specific stone type before full application.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Flowpoint ECO?

Flowpoint ECO is a rapid-set flowable paving grout with 20% recycled glass content. It exceeds BS 7533, achieves 49.6N/mm² compressive strength, and has been used for over 20 years across public realm, commercial landscaping and domestic paving projects.

What’s the difference between Flowpoint ECO and Flowpoint Standard?

Performance is identical — both fill joints from 5–50mm and use the same 4.25L water ratio. The key differences are that ECO contains 20% recycled glass, carries CEEQUAL and BREEAM suitability, and is NBS Source registered.

Is Flowpoint ECO really as strong as Standard?

Yes. It achieves a compressive strength of 49.6N/mm² and exceeds all requirements of BS 7533. The recycled glass content does not reduce performance.

What size joints can it be used for?

5mm to 50mm wide, 20–200mm deep in a single application. For joints narrower than 5mm, see Flowpoint Smooth (3mm minimum) or Flowpoint Fine (2mm minimum).

What is the set time?

Initial set is approximately 15 minutes at 20°C, full set 30 minutes. Cool temperatures retard this; warm temperatures accelerate it. Open to foot traffic after 1 hour, vehicles after 4 hours.

How much water do I add?

4.25 litres per 25KG bag. Mix for 3–5 minutes with a paddle mixer until smooth and lump-free. Never add extra water or remix once set has begun.

Can Flowpoint ECO be used in the rain?

Yes — light rain is fine. Clear standing water from joints before application.

Can it be used on granite setts?

Yes — well suited to granite setts. Coverage approx. 1.5–2m² per 25KG bag on setts due to joint volume.

Can it be used on black limestone?

With care — use a temporary pre-sealer such as Tile Rite Patio Prep to prevent oxidisation. Call us if unsure about a specific stone.

Is Flowpoint ECO permeable?

No — it creates a rigid, bound, non-permeable joint. Must be used on a solid, non-permeable bed.

Do I need to pre-seal before grouting?

With a pre-sealer (e.g. Tile Rite Patio Prep): apply in advance, skip the water pre-soak.
Without a sealer: thoroughly wet paving, remove all standing water. Damp, not waterlogged.

What’s the shelf life?

8 months from manufacture (printed on bag), stored sealed in cool, dry, frost-free conditions.

How much do I need per m²?

Approx. 12–20m² per 25KG bag for natural stone mixed packs; 1.5–2m² for granite setts. Use the Flowpoint Calculator on this page for a precise figure.

Is Flowpoint ECO suitable for CEEQUAL or BREEAM projects?

Yes — specifically designed for schemes working toward a CEEQUAL ‘Excellent’ award or where a BREEAM assessment is required. NBS Source registered for ease of specification.

What’s the compressive strength?

49.6N/mm², achieved using 4.25 litres of water per 25KG bag.

  • Shelf life: 8 months from manufacture (printed on bag) | Storage: cool, dry, frost-free

Suitable For

Flowpoint ECO is suitable for all pavements where a rigid, bound, void-free joint is required, including:

  • Town centre pedestrian schemes and public realm
  • Pathways and carriageways
  • Commercial and domestic patios and driveways
  • Natural stone: sandstone, limestone, Indian Stone, Yorkstone, granite setts, slate
  • Concrete flags and clay paviours
  • Both smooth sawn and riven flags

Please note: Flowpoint ECO is not recommended for some darker limestones (such as black limestone) as slight oxidisation may occur. Use a temporary pre-sealer such as Tile Rite Patio Prep on porous or sensitive stones. Call us if unsure.

How to Apply — Quick Reference

  1. Ensure joints are free from debris and all ponded water is removed.
  2. Pre-soak paving surface and joints with water — keep damp throughout the jointing process.
  3. Add 4.25L of clean water per 25KG bag. Mix with a paddle mixer for 3–5 minutes until smooth and lump-free.
  4. Apply without delay — do not store liquid mortar. Mix only what you can apply in approx. 4 minutes.
  5. Pour over paving and force into joints using a long-handled neoprene squeegee. Keep surface constantly damp.
  6. Move grout across the surface repeatedly to top up joints where mortar has slumped.
  7. Squeegee off as much mortar as possible from the surface.
