Akemi Flexy-Zem Silicone Filler (Complements FUGA-PAVE Flex CH Grout)

Akemi Flexy-Zem Silcone is a matt, stone effect silicone for expansion and connecting joints, that is suitable for ceramics, tiles, natural stone, marble, granite, quarzite, sandstone, terrazzo and concrete. Silicone is used for expansion or movement joints, and for sealing edges on paving, or internal tiling – to prevent tiles and grout from cracking or the tiles de-bonding.

Akemi Flexy-Zem Silcone Filler can also easily be used as a replacement for conventional grouts as its appearance is similar to a cement-based jointing mortar. Akemi Flexy-Zem Silcone is available in five popular colours to complement the range of FUGA-PAVE Flex CH Grouts; Fog, Cement Grey, Stone Grey, Anthracite, and Ivory.

Akemi Flexy-Zem Silcone comes in a 310ML tube, that’s easy and convenient to apply. It can be used both internally and externally, and is UV stable so the colour won’t fade over time with weathering. One key benefit is that the matt stone effect silicone won’t cause picture framing or stain, expensive, porous natural stone.

Instructions for using Akemi Flexy-Zem Silcone

Contact surfaces must be dry, clean and free dirt, dust and oil
In order to prevent adhesion on three flanks and in the event of deeper joints, AKEMI® joint cords should be used; closed-cell polyethylene (PE) joint tapes for wet/moist rooms (bathrooms, saunas etc.), for outdoors and areas exposed to permanent humidity, otherwise open-cell polyurethane (PUR) joint cords. Joint size: 6 x 6 mm at the least.
Areas flanking the joint should be protected with special tiling adhesive masking tape.
In wet/moist rooms and areas exposed to permanent humidity, outdoors and by particular surfaces (see primer table) we recommend the application of our primers on the flanks of the joints.
Working temperature +5°C up to +35°C.
Apply the product and smooth over within 5 to 10 minutes; An optimal matt effect is achieved with dry smoothing (without using a smoothing agent).
Remove the adhesive masking tape in the direction of the joint prior to skin formation.

Tools can be cleaned with AKEMI® Cleaner A. - For professional use only. - Use afin® Liquid Glove to protect your hands. - The product should be smoothened as dry as possible to maintain the matt surface effect. - Discolouration occurs on tar and bitumen coated surfaces as well as on elastomers s.a. EPDM, APTC or neoprene. - Test the compatibility with the product prior to using it on coated surfaces (e.g. varnishes, paints). - To avoid staining, do not apply primer on visible surfaces
