  3. 400ml Twin Tube Cartridge Gun Dispenser
  4. Joint It Epoxy Grout Tools including; Tilers Ball Tile Caulk Finishing Tool, Grout Scraper

Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout Application Process:

  1. Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout is suitable for smooth tiles & slabs, it can be used only on surfaces where a finishing scraper can be smoothly pulled across the top of the paving to remove excess grout. Not suitable for rough, uneven paving slab edges
  2. Do not use Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout in temperatures below 5° or above 25°C
  3. Before you begin application of Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout, ensure your joints are between 1-5mm wide and at least 10mm deep
  4. Make sure tiles are securely laid on a full contact, solid base with no movement in the slabs
  5. Ensure that the tiles or slabs are dry, clean and free of any dirt & debris
  6. When you are ready to begin applying Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout, use the sponge provided to apply a generous amount of Joint-It Anti Bonding Wax to the top of the paving slabs along both sides of the joint (the grout acts as a barrier between the grout and the tile, and makes it easy to peel off excess grout at the end of the application)
  7. Ensure that you wax areas no more than 10-15 minutes before you begin grouting
  8. Remove the twist cap from the top of the Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout Tube, screw on the application nozzle provided
  9. Cut the nozzle at a 45º to the size of your paving joint with a clean, sharp stanley knife
  10. Insert the tubes into a 400ml Twin Tube Cartridge Gun Dispenser; by pulling back the lever, and push the tubes down firmly in place
  11. Parts A & B are in separate tubes, mixed within the application nozzle
  12. Using the gun dispenser, squeeze out the first two centimetres of the grout, and discard to ensure that it is mixed well and that the epoxy grout has activated
  13. Using the application gun, slowly squeeze the product into the joints, ensuring that the epoxy grout covers above the level of the tiles
  14. Leave the Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout for approximately 10-15 minutes to set and ‘go-off’
  15. Once semi-set, pull the round ball finishing tool along the joints to create a smooth finish
  16. When the joints feel hard to touch, use a blade to peel off excess product, if the grout still feels sticky and is difficult to scrape off neatly, the grout isn’t ready to be scraped off
  17. Joint-It Anti Bonding Wax will weather off over a few weeks, there is no need to clean wax off the surface of the slabs
  18. Please note: Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout has a matte finish, however In some cases the product may initially have a slightly glossy appearance, this will tone down after a few weeks

Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout Frequently Asked questions: –

What is Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout?

Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout is an innovative two-part epoxy grout that has been specifically developed for outdoor porcelain and smooth stone paving with narrow joints from 1-5mm and 10mm deep. Available in Grey (more colours coming soon) and demonstrating excellent bond strength of 55nm2, Joint-It Epoxy Grout is a non-staining, impermeable solution for grouting porcelain and smooth paving slabs.

What colours does Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout come in?

Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout is currently available in Grey. During the research and development phase the manufacturer found that this was the most favoured colour, and also the colour that was the most compatible with the majority of popular porcelain paving slabs. We are assured by the team at Joint-It that there are more colours coming soon.

What types of paving can Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout be used with?

Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout is most commonly used with porcelain tiles and paving slabs, however it is also ideal for other types of smooth and manmade stone. Joint-It Epoxy cannot be used on paving where the edge of the paving slab has a rough, beveled or hand cut finish.

Does Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout stain?

Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout does not stain, it is resin based and contains no Portland Cement! Many traditional cement based slurry and external paving grouts can cause a few headaches for novice landscapers, as the timings for clean up and ensuring that the products aren’t over-watered can be a little more tricky. Great as they are, these cement based paving grouts do need a little more care to ensure that they do not stain or pull efflorescence from the paving bed, where-as Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout is simply piped with a grout gun into the joint, left to set and then just peels right off with a blade, for easy, clean and long-lasting paving joints.

What do I need to apply Joint-It Epoxy Paving Grout?
  • Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout (as many tubes as you need to complete the job).
  • Joint-It Anti-Bonding Wax
  • Tile Caulk Metal Ball Tool & Scraper or Blade
  • Manual Twin Tube Cartridge Gun Dispenser
Do I need to use another other products with Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout?

Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout needs to be used with the Joint-It Anti Bonding Wax, to ensure that the grout is easily removed from the paving slabs. the Anti-Bonding Wax is simply brushed or sponged onto the side of the slabs, and then the epoxy paving grout is gun applied to the joints, the wax weathers off after a few weeks, there is no need to chemically remove or wash it off.

What is the coverage of Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout?

Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout will cover up to approximately 2m² with a 5mm joint. Coverage does depends on the width of the joints and the size of the paving slab. If you have any leftover product within a tube, you can put the cap back on and still use it up to a month later on a different patio.

What type of bed does Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout need to be laid on?

Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout needs to be laid on a non-permeable, full contact bed of mortar. A full mortar bed will ensure stability, adhesion and prevent voids that can catch water and lead to slabs popping and becoming loose and unstable.

Can I use Joint-It Epoxy Grout if it is raining, or rain is forecast?

Joint-It Epoxy Grout cannot be used in the rain. The paving must be clean and dry before application and there should be no rain expected whilst applying this epoxy paving grout.

If it starts to rain, you need to run the finishing tool along the joints, to strike off – this should cause you no major problems and will not affect the products performance.
