How do I prepare to use Larsen FBC?

All substrates for bonded constructions should be clean, free from grease, oils, dust and loose particles or any debris that may interfere with the adhesion of the bedding layer to the substrate. It is important to pre-soak the substrate but not so the area is full of standing water.

Do I need to use a primer before applying Larsen FBC?

To improve of Streetscape FBC to the substrate, it is recommended that you firstly apply a priming slurry to increase bond strength such as Larsens PS, as well as priming the base of all paving slabs, cobbles or setts.

How do I mix Larsen FBC?

Simply add 2 to 2.5 litres of water per 25KG bag, mix with a suitable mechanical mixer for approximately 3 minutes or until the mixture reaches a semi moist, bread dough like consistency - if too little water is used the the bedding mix will be too dry to bind together. If you need a more pliable mix you can add more water, but please note the hardened properties of the product will be reduced. Workability should be regularly tested using the 'snowball' test.

How do I apply Larsen FBC?

Streetscape FBC can be applied in a bed from 10-75mm in a single pass. A greater thickness can be achieved by layering, but should be laid wet on wet with each layer sufficiently compacted. If another layer is required once a layer has set, prime with Streetscape PS. Streetscape FBC can receive foot traffic within 12 hours and vehicle traffic after 24 hours.
