If you are looking for an environmentally friendly bedding mortar for an upcoming project, UltraScape Eco-bed is is a sustainable fine bedding mortar specifically formulated to meet and exceed the strict demands of BS 7533 -101:2021. Eco-Bed provides a perfect bound base for natural stone paving and cobbles, concrete paving, flags, block paving and 20mm Porcelain tiles, which, once laid with UltraScape Eco-bed are able to accept foot traffic after just 12 hours and vehicular traffic after 24 hours. The material is also not subject to environmental erosion, which can lead to increased point loads on slabs and consequent breakage.

UltraScape Eco-bed contains 20% recycled materials, significantly reducing the consumption of virgin aggregates. It is ideal for schemes looking to achieve an ‘excellent’ CEEQUAL award, or where a BREEAM assessment is to be conducted on your building. UltraScape Eco-bed installation guide for domestic patios & paved garden areas

1. Ensure that the sub-base is sound & solid and not prone to settlement.
2. A base layer of compacted Type 1 stone should be installed in two layers. Each layer should be compacted to 50mm. This should result in a minimum 100mm compacted depth. Ensure that the Type 1 stone is fully compacted, failure to do so will result in an unstable base.
3. UltraScape Eco-bed should be applied to a minimum depth of 30mm on top of the compacted Type 1 stone. Only mix enough bedding mortar to ensure it remains wet when fixing the primed paver.
4. Porcelain Pavers should be bedded into the Eco-bed after applying a liberal coat of UltraScape Pro-Prime Slurry Primer to the back of the paver.
5. Press pavers well into the Eco-bedding mortar to ensure full contact. Ensure
   pavers are bedded while both bedding mortar and slurry primer are still wet to ensure full contact.
6. Please Note: A stronger base construction is required for driveways that accept standing vehicles please contact us for guidance.
