Paving Grout Sample Packs
If you are looking at creating a new patio, re-grouting existing pavers, or looking to grout a pathway or drive, then choosing the right paving grout isn’t just about finding the perfect colour — it’s about what’s right for your particular project. Compatibility with your sub-base, paving grout type, finish, colour, are all considerations. Whether you’re paving a patio, driveway, walkway, or commercial outdoor space, our paving grout samples let you see what the grout looks like in the flesh before you purchase.
✅ Why Getting a Grout Sample Is So Important
Our digital online photos do a great job, but can’t always capture how grout colours will look in your environment with your chosen paving slabs. Lighting, paver material, and surroundings all affect appearance. Samples let you see the real colour before the full project starts.
✋ Feel the Texture & Application
Smooth or grainy? Flexible or rigid? See how the paving grout works against your natural stone, porcelain, granite setts or concrete slabs before you make your final decision.
💸 Avoid Costly Mistakes
Choosing the wrong paving grout can ruin the look and feel of your patio. Samples help you avoid costly redos or mismatched results.
🎨 What’s in a Sample Pack?
Your choice of brand, grade & colour samples (available as a pre-mixed, fully hardened tile swatch sample). You get a piece of grout, that’ll look exactly as the grout will look when it’s been laid. You can then hold the sample next to your paving slabs, to see how it looks.

All you need to know is whether you need a Permeable Paving Grout, or a Non-Permeable Paving Grout. The difference between permeable and non-permeable grouts mainly lies in their ability to allow water to pass through. Here’s a quick breakdown:
🔷 Permeable Grouts (also called porous or pervious grouts), allows water to pass through.
Used in applications where a drainage solution is needed that provides an alternative to the direct channelling of surface water through networks of pipes and sewers to nearby watercourses.
Usually made with larger aggregates and lower fine content to leave gaps for water flow.
Examples: Some sand-cement mixes with little fine content, brush-in grouts, or specialised resin-bound gravel systems.
🔷 Non-Permeable Grouts (also called impermeable grouts):
These stop water from draining through into the bed beneath, and need a fall on the patio or somewhere for the water to flow away.
Common in the majority of paving projects, and typically made with cementitious, epoxy, or resin based materials that fully cure and block flow of water into the grout beneath.
Examples: Epoxy, Resin or Cement-based Paving Grouts.
🔍 In short:
Permeable = water soaks into the ground rather than running off the surface into the watercourse. A way of managing stormwater and reducing the risk of flooding by directing water to the ground beneath.
Non-permeable = Stops water seeping into the ground and instead directs it towards a drainage system, forcing rainwater to flow over the surface and into drains or channels.
Whether you’re looking for a cement-based grout, resin-based grout, traditional brush-in sanded grout, or permeable alternatives, we should have a sample pack that fits your needs.
