How to Use the Probst AZL-EP Screeding Poles Set (13m & 25m)
The Probst AZL-EP Screeding Poles Set is designed to be used with the EASYPLAN EP-UNI screeding system to create a fast, accurate and level base for paving.
Step 1: Prepare the Area
- Ensure the sub-base is compacted and levelled to the required height
- Remove any loose debris or large stones
- Set out the working area where screeding will take place
Step 2: Assemble the Screeding Rails
- Connect the rails using the integrated plug-in system
- The rails slot together quickly and securely without additional fixings
- Use the required combination of rails depending on your set (13m or 25m)
- Ensure all joints are aligned properly for a smooth screeding run
Step 3: Position the Rails
- Lay the rails parallel to each other at the correct spacing
- Set the rails to the desired finished height of the bedding layer
- Use string lines, levels or existing edges (kerbs/paving) as reference points
- Ensure rails are stable and do not move during use
Step 4: Spread Screeding Material
- Evenly distribute sand or aggregate between the rails
- Slightly overfill the area to allow for screeding
- Ensure consistent coverage across the working section
Step 5: Use the EASYPLAN EP-UNI
- Place the EP-UNI screeding profile onto the rails
- Adjust the width using telescopic elements to match the rail spacing
- Pull the screeding tool along the rails using steady, even force
- Use body weight through the handle for consistent pressure
Step 6: Achieve a Level Finish
- The EP-UNI runs along the rails to create a perfectly level surface
- Its design prevents it from leaving the rails during use, even with large amounts of material
- Repeat passes if necessary to achieve a smooth finish
Step 7: Move and Repeat
- Carefully remove the rails after screeding
- Fill any gaps left by the rails with additional material
- Continue the process across the full area until complete
Why Use the AZL-EP System?
- Fast assembly with plug-in rail connections
- Galvanised steel rails are durable and corrosion-resistant
- EP-UNI screeding tool stays on the rails for consistent results
- Adjustable working width allows flexibility across different job sizes
- Reduces physical strain by allowing upright working position
Suitable for Both 13m & 25m Sets
- The setup and method of use is identical for both sets
- The only difference is the total available rail length
- 13m set is ideal for smaller areas
- 25m set is suited for larger paving projects
