“We’ve used hard rubber squeegees for years and they bounce off your slabs, these neoprene squeegees are great because they allow you to remove most of the grout from your paving and make wash off & clean-up easy. The aluminium handles are strong too – when compared to old wooden broom stales. Mint product!” Adam Gould, Owner, Terrafirma
What is a Squeegee?
A squeegee is cleaning tool that uses a rubber blade to clear water, liquid or paving grout from a surface. In neoprene squeegees the rubber blade is made of neoprene. Industrial floor squeegees made of neoprene are the perfect cleaning product for a multitude of uses, such as cleaning paving grouts from patio’s.
What sizes are Neoprene Squeegees available in?
Squeegees are made from strong and durable neoprene, they come in a variety of sizes – this particular budget squeegee comes in 550mm. However, we also do a premium version starting from the smallest 450mm, 550mm to a 750mm one. Neoprene squeegees are used for a variety of tasks including cleaning windows and floors, grout from pavers or indoor tiles.
What materials are squeegees typically made from?
The most common materials for floor squeegee blades are neoprene, foam and rubber. Neoprene is typically the material found in premium, commercial-grade floor squeegees, due to its ability to bend and flex and get into riven edges on stone, cobbles or tight corners. Where-as cheaper grade rubber squeegees tend to bounce off the surface of stone, and don’t fully remove paving grouts making clean up much harder and more laborious. Neoprene is particularly good for use with paving slurry grouts like Flowpoint and Fuga Pave, for cleaning the even & uneven surfaces on riven natural stone or smoother porcelain pavers.
What features do the Neoprene Squeegees have?
The strong and durable Neoprene rubber blade is resistant to oil, petroleum, grease, water and most common chemicals & polymers found in grouts. The neoprene grout floor squeegee is ideal for wiping away grout from the surface of the pavers, with minimal effort.
How do you use a Neoprene Squeegee?
Neoprene grout floor squeegees are mainly used for the purpose of cleaning grout and residue from pavers and patios. As the slurry grout is poured over the paving slabs, setts or stone the neoprene squeegee can be used to push the grout back and forth to ensure the grout settles into all of the nooks and crannies. When it comes time to clean the paving grout from the slabs, the power washer is used to clean away the dirt and grime using water, and the floor squeegee can be used once again back and forth, and side by side to wipe the residue away. A clean, perfectly grouted patio with beautiful joints will be revealed.
What is Neoprene?
Neoprene is a type of rubber which is synthetically produced, most commonly used in wetsuits and squeegees for cleaning windows and paving grout.
Neoprene was originally produced by the American DuPont Corporation, Neoprene is a brand name of polychloroprene, typically used as a substitute for rubber. Neoprene is chemical and abrasion resistant, stretchable, has incredible buoyancy and most importantly is waterproof, which makes it an ideal material for wetsuits, gloves and other garments as is designed to insulate our bodies against wet and cold environments.
As it does not react with most common oils and chemicals, it’s ideal for industrial and commercial uses.
