We’re a small, family-run business — I’m Cleo, the owner, with over 25 years in the construction industry working with businesses including Tarmac and Instarmac. I work alongside a team of incredibly knowledgeable and caring individuals, and between us we’ve seen a lot of paving tools come and go. The neoprene squeegee is one of the few that genuinely makes a noticeable difference to how quickly and cleanly a grouting job gets finished.
We recommend the 550mm head as the go-to option for most general paving work — it covers good ground with each pass and is the size most of our professional landscaping customers reach for. The 750mm head offers faster coverage on larger areas, and the 450mm is better suited to tighter spaces or smaller projects. Not sure which size is right for your job? Give us a call and we’ll help you choose.
Why Choose a Neoprene Paving Grout Squeegee?
The difference between a neoprene squeegee and a standard hard rubber squeegee comes down to flexibility. Hard rubber squeegees tend to bounce across uneven or riven paving surfaces — they sit on the high points rather than following the contours of the slab. Neoprene is naturally more pliable, which means it follows the surface of the paving, gets into the riven undulations and small spaces, and pushes the grout fully into the joints rather than skimming over them.
A rubber squeegee also leaves considerably more grout residue behind on the surface. That excess residue makes it much harder to clean the grout off the paving slabs during wash-off — more scrubbing, more time, and a higher risk of grout drying on the surface before you can remove it. Neoprene removes more grout in fewer passes, which makes the wash-off stage significantly faster and easier.
The result is less grout left on the surface before wash-off, cleaner joints, and a faster, easier clean-up. For landscapers and paving contractors working on slurry-grouted patios, that difference in efficiency adds up quickly across a job. Read more in our guide: Best rubber squeegee for paving? It has to be Neoprene.
Key Benefits
- Flexible neoprene follows uneven and riven paving surfaces — hard rubber bounces, neoprene conforms
- Pushes slurry grout fully into joints and small spaces, reducing voids and ensuring consistent fill
- Removes more excess grout from the paving surface before wash-off — less to clean up afterwards
- Makes wash-off and clean-up faster and easier, saving time and effort on site
- Attach to the aluminium pole to apply and clean grout from a fully upright position — no need to constantly bend down
- Resistant to oils, petroleum, grease and water
- Resistant to most common chemicals and polymers found in cement and epoxy-based grouts
- Abrasion resistant and durable — clean thoroughly after use and the head is reusable
- Suitable for both applying and cleaning a wide range of cementitious paving slurry grouts
- Available in 450mm, 550mm and 750mm to suit different project scales
- Compatible with the 3-section aluminium pole (sold separately)
Landscaper Benefits
- Less effort — the flexible neoprene blade removes more grout from the surface before wash-off, reducing the amount of residue left to clean up and cutting the effort required at every stage of the grouting process
- Better coverage — neoprene follows the profile of riven and uneven paving rather than bouncing across the high points, ensuring consistent grout coverage across textured and irregular surfaces with each pass
- Faster clean-up — less grout left on the surface means easier, faster washing at the end of the job, saving time and allowing you to move on to the next stage sooner
- Work upright — attach the head to the 3-section aluminium pole to apply and clean grout from a fully upright position, rather than constantly bending down across a large patio area
- Professional finish — consistent grout coverage and effective excess removal helps achieve clean, fully filled joints and a cleaner paving surface at the end of the job
Available Sizes
The neoprene squeegee head is available in three sizes — select your preferred size using the options above:
- 450mm — best suited to tighter spaces, smaller patio areas or more detailed work
- 550mm — the most popular general-purpose size for standard paving and landscaping projects
- 750mm — ideal for larger patio areas where faster coverage per pass is a priority
This listing is for the squeegee head only. To use with a pole, add the 3-section aluminium pole separately, or choose the Neoprene Squeegee & Pole Bundle Deal for better value.
The Neoprene Squeegee Head for Landscapers and Paving Contractors
For professional landscapers and paving contractors, efficiency during the grouting stage matters. The neoprene paving grout squeegee head is designed with that in mind — it gives you better coverage per pass, removes more grout from the surface before wash-off, and when used with the aluminium pole, lets you work upright rather than bending down repeatedly across a large patio.
The flexible neoprene blade is particularly effective on riven or textured porcelain paving, natural stone and other surfaces where the profile is uneven. Rather than skating across the high points, it follows the surface and pushes grout into the joints consistently with each pass. Less grout left on the surface means a faster, easier wash-off stage — and a cleaner, more professional finish.
The squeegee head is compatible with a wide range of professional paving grouts, including Flowpoint, Flowpoint Fine, Porcelpoint, FUGA-PAVE FLEX XP, Nexus Pro-Joint Titan, Joint-It Dynamic and Larsen FJM. Always follow the grout manufacturer’s instructions for correct application and clean-up timing.
How to Use the Neoprene Paving Grout Squeegee Head
The neoprene squeegee head can be used both to apply slurry grout to paving and to remove excess grout from the surface before wash-off. Attach to the 3-section aluminium pole to work from an upright position. Always follow the grout manufacturer’s instructions for the specific product you’re using. For a detailed guide to technique, see our blog: Best rubber squeegee for paving? It has to be Neoprene.
Applying slurry grout: Pour the mixed slurry grout onto the paving surface and use the squeegee to push it back and forth across the slabs, working it evenly into the joints. The flexible neoprene blade will follow the surface profile and push the grout into riven areas and small spaces that a hard rubber blade would skip over.
Removing excess grout: Once the grout has been worked into the joints, use the squeegee to remove the excess from the surface. Work the blade back and forth and side to side to clear as much residue as possible before wash-off. For the wash-off stage, we recommend using a washboy and sponge rather than a hose or pressure washer, to avoid overwatering the joints. Clean the squeegee blade thoroughly after every use — looked after properly, the head is reusable across multiple jobs.
Cleo, Owner of The Paving Experts, Says:
“The neoprene squeegee is one of those tools that looks simple but makes a real difference on site. The flexibility of the neoprene is the key thing — it follows the surface rather than bouncing across it, which means the grout actually gets into the joints properly rather than sitting on top of the paving. We sell a lot of these to landscaping teams who’ve switched from hard rubber and never looked back. If you’re grouting any kind of riven or textured paving, neoprene is the right choice.”

The Neoprene Paving Grout Squeegee Head is one of the most effective tools available for applying and cleaning slurry-based paving grouts — and it’s a product our customers consistently come back to tell us they’re delighted with. Flexible, durable and designed to follow the surface of your paving rather than bounce across it, it makes grout application and clean-up faster, easier and more thorough than a standard hard rubber squeegee. For a full guide to why neoprene outperforms rubber on paving, see our blog: Best rubber squeegee for paving? It has to be Neoprene.
This listing is for the squeegee head only — no pole included. Available in 450mm, 550mm and 750mm. Compatible with the 3-section aluminium pole (sold separately), or buy the complete Neoprene Squeegee & Pole Bundle Deal. Suitable for Flowpoint, Flowpoint Fine, Porcelpoint, FUGA-PAVE FLEX XP, Nexus Pro-Joint Titan, Joint-It Dynamic, Larsen FJM and other cementitious paving slurry grouts.

Neoprene Paving Grout Squeegee Head FAQs
I’m Cleo, owner of The Paving Experts, with over 25 years in the construction industry working with businesses including Tarmac and Instarmac. I work alongside a small team of incredibly knowledgeable and caring individuals who share the same passion for getting it right. The FAQ answers below come from the questions we’re asked every single day.
What is a neoprene paving squeegee head?
A heavy-duty replacement squeegee head designed for applying and cleaning up slurry paving grouts. Its flexible neoprene blade helps move grout into joints and remove excess from the paving surface. This listing is for the head only — no pole included.
Why use a neoprene squeegee instead of rubber?
Neoprene is more pliable than standard hard rubber, so it follows riven and uneven paving more effectively instead of bouncing across the surface. A rubber squeegee also leaves considerably more grout residue behind, which makes it much harder to clean the grout off the paving slabs during wash-off. Neoprene removes more in fewer passes, making clean-up significantly faster and easier. For a full comparison, see our guide: Best rubber squeegee for paving? It has to be Neoprene.
Which paving grouts can I use with it?

How to Use the Neoprene Paving Grout Squeegee Head
Always follow the grout manufacturer’s instructions for the correct application and clean-up timing for the specific product you’re using.
Assembly: Attach the squeegee head to the 3-section aluminium pole (sold separately) for upright use. The pole assembles to approximately 1.4m.
Applying slurry grout: Pour the mixed slurry grout onto the paving surface and use the squeegee to push it back and forth across the slabs, working it evenly into the joints. The flexible neoprene blade follows the surface profile and pushes grout into riven areas and small spaces that a hard rubber blade would skip over.
Removing excess grout: Once the grout has been worked into the joints, use the squeegee to remove excess from the surface. Work the blade back and forth and side to side to clear as much residue as possible before wash-off.
Wash-off: For the wash-off stage, we recommend using a washboy and sponge rather than a hose or pressure washer, to avoid overwatering the joints.
After use: Clean the squeegee blade thoroughly after every use. Looked after properly, the head is reusable across multiple jobs.
