How do I use the Tile Rite Square Notched Cork Handle Adhesive Trowel?
To use our Square Notched Cork Handle Adhesive Trowel, ensure that the area you are about to apply tile or floor adhesive to is clean, and free from dust, dirt or anything greasy, wipe over the area to clean. Start by applying a small amount of tile adhesive or mortar to the surface where the tiles or paving slabs will be installed. Hold the cork handle notched trowel at a 45-degree angle and spread the adhesive evenly across the surface using the flat side of the trowel. Once spread, switch to the notched side and comb through the adhesive, creating uniform ridges. The notches on the trowel control the thickness of your tile adhesive, ensuring consistent and even coverage. Immediately press the tiles firmly into place, using slight pressure to settle them into the adhesive ridges. This method ensures a strong bond and reduces air pockets underneath the tiles.
If using our Tile Rite Spacer Bases & Caps then begin by applying the tile adhesive to the surface using the cork handle notched trowel, then place the first tile firmly into the adhesive. Insert the tile spacers at each corner of the tile to maintain consistent spacing between tiles, ensuring uniform grout lines. As you place the next tile, push it against the spacers to maintain the gap. Continue this process row by row, screwing the caps down onto the tiles to ensure and even surface once dry, adjust the spacers as needed to keep the tiles aligned. Once the adhesive has set but before it fully dries, remove the spacers to prepare for grouting. This ensures a professional finish, and evenly spaced tiles.
