About the product

UltraCrete Kerb and Patch Repair (FORMERLY FP-1)

Kerb and Patch Repair is ideal for the reinstatement of small areas requiring less than a ready-mix quantity for example, the reinstatement of trip hazards, kerbs and steps. This high strength patch and kerb repair can be opened to traffic in just 2 hours.

Kerb & Patch Repair is supplied in 10KG plastic tub, and comes as a two-part system, which comprises a fully pre-blended mix of special cements and aggregates and a polymer modified liquid admixture, which makes it perfect for carrying out small repairs quickly onsite. You simply mix the pre-blended cements and aggregates vigorously with the primer liquid in the supplied bucket, if you need a slightly wetter consistency a small amount of water may be added to produce a stiff, slump-free concrete.

Applications

UltraCrete Kerb and Patch Repair is a two-component rapid repair mortar, ideal for the reinstatement of small areas such as trip hazards, kerbs and steps where prompt access is required.

Technical

Kerb and Patch Repair, supplied in 10KG plastic containers, is a two-part system, comprising of a fully pre-blended mix of special cements and aggregates and a polymer modified liquid admixture. The product allows for depths of 10mm to 100mm to be achieved in one application. Kerb and Patch Repair should not be used at temperatures below 5°C during application or initial set.

Preparation

All surfaces should be free from oil, grease, dust or any other visible contaminants. Smooth substrates must be mechanically roughened, e.g. by scabbling or needle gun, followed by washing with clean water to remove all loose particles. Always work on a sound substrate. It is essential that repair edges are saw cut to a minimum depth of 10mm, feather edging is not recommended.

Priming

Use the supplied primer (white liquid included in the pack) to prime the surfaces prior to application, paying particular attention to the edges of the repair. Note: Do not allow the primer to dry.

Mixing

Mix the blended cements and aggregates vigorously with the remaining primer liquid. A little water may be added to produce a stiff slump-free homogeneous compound.

Placing

Kerb and Patch Repair should be applied firmly into position as soon as possible after mixing. Pay particular attention to edges and thin sections. Level up to the surface and finish using a steel float or trowel to close up the surface and seal the edges. Kerb and Patch Repair is ideal for small areas of repair. Larger patches may require an alternative product such as FTC.

Storage

Powder: Store in closed original container at temperatures between 5°C and 30°C. Avoid frost. This product must be stored in unopened tubs, clear of the ground in cool dry conditions and protected from excessive drafts. Liquid: Store in tightly closed original container in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Extreme temperatures can damage this product in its liquid form. Store containers at temperatures between 5°C & 30°C. Liquid should not be exposed to excess heat, cold or frost during storage or when being transported between sites.

Shelf life

Shelf life from date of manufacture in correct conditions for sealed packaging is 8 months. Note: The use of this product after the end of the declared storage period may increase the risk of an allergic reaction. High temperatures and high humidity will lead to a reduced shelf life.
