How to prepare the repair

For large-section repairs only, keep the substrate permanently damp, remove ponded water and scrub UltraScape Pro-Prime well into the substrate. Apply QC6 immediately after mixing while the primer is still wet.

Curing is not required for small patches. For large-section repairs, spray Ultra Floor Prime IT Multi-surface Primer immediately after achieving the surface finish. Apply a generous amount because QC6 hardens rapidly.

How to prepare the repair

- Remove oil, grease, dust, loose particles and other visible contamination. Work on a sound substrate.
- Pre-soak the area with clean water to help promote bond and reduce shrinkage, then remove all ponded water.
- Do not apply QC6 when the temperature is below 5°C during application or initial set.
Priming large repairs
For large-section repairs only, keep the substrate permanently damp, remove ponded water and scrub UltraScape Pro-Prime well into the substrate. Apply QC6 immediately after mixing while the primer is still wet.

UltraCrete QC6 is a rapid-set, non-shrink concrete for surface reinstatement around access covers, street ironwork and street furniture. This 25KG tub is also suitable for picture frames and fillets, pathways, concrete drives, pavements and general surface repairs where a neat, hard-wearing repair needs to be put back into service quickly.
QC6 has approximately 5–10 minutes’ workability and sets in around 15 minutes. It can be open to traffic after approximately 4 hours, depending on temperature and the wider repair. The application depth is 12–100mm, with approximately 1m² coverage at 12.5mm.

We know that reinstatement work is often about getting a repair finished properly without leaving a site, footway or access point exposed for longer than necessary. QC6 preparation and application
Cut and clean the repair
Saw-cut the edges to a minimum depth of 12mm. Feather edging is not recommended. Remove oil, grease, dust, loose particles and other visible contamination, and work on a sound substrate.
Pre-soak the area
Pre-soak the repair with clean water to promote bond and help prevent shrinkage. Remove any ponded water before placing QC6.
Prime large-section repairs
For large repairs only, ensure the substrate remains permanently damp, remove ponded water and scrub UltraScape Pro-Prime into the substrate. Place QC6 immediately after mixing while the primer is still wet.
Mix and place quickly
Use a forced-action mixer or mix vigorously by hand. Add approximately 2.75 litres of water per 25KG and mix to a stiff, consistent, no-slump material with all particles wetted. Mix only enough to apply within approximately 4 minutes. Do not remix or add extra water.
Apply the mix to the pre-soaked area at 12–100mm depth, firming it into position with a float and paying attention to the edges and thin sections. Level it to the surrounding surface and finish with a steel float or trowel to close the surface and seal the edges.
Curing
Curing is not required for small patches. For large-section repairs, spray Ultra Floor Prime IT Multi-surface Primer as soon as the surface finish is complete. Apply a generous amount because QC6 hardens quickly.
