About the product

Flowpoint Premium Smooth Stone Grey: Full Pallet of 56 x 25kg Bags

This full pallet deal contains 56 x 25kg bags of UltraScape Flowpoint Premium Smooth Stone Grey paving grout, with free standard delivery to England, Wales and the main areas of Scotland. If you've got a larger patio, commercial landscaping job or granite sett project lined up, a pallet lets you have the grout ready as work moves along. Smaller paving units and wider or deeper joints can use more grout per square metre, so it's worth checking your quantities before ordering. You'll receive 1,400kg in individual bags, ready to mix as you need them.

Stone Grey is the neutral grey option in the Premium Smooth range. Its fine aggregate suits joints from 3mm, including contemporary grey porcelain and cool-toned natural stone. If you want a grey joint rather than the warmer buff of Yorkstone or cream/buff of Limestone, this is the colour we'd suggest looking at. Check a sample with your actual paving before committing to a full pallet.

For joints 3–50mm wide and 20–200mm deep, initial set in 15–30 minutes at 20°C, foot traffic after 1 hour and vehicles after 4 hours. This listing supplies 56 x 25kg bags, not a single bag.

We're a small, family-run business. I'm Cleo, the owner, with over 25 years in the construction industry working with businesses including Tarmac and Instarmac. Our team helps customers choose grout for the paving in front of them, not just a colour name on a bag. If you're unsure whether Stone Grey will work with your stone, send us a photo or call 0330 122 1025. We're happy to talk it through.

Which Paving Suits Stone Grey?

Paving What to check
Grey or neutral porcelain A neutral grey joint for contemporary paving, with fine aggregate for joints from 3mm.
Sandstone and Indian Stone Compare with the colour variations across the stone and trial your chosen preparation method.
Pale limestone Check colour and surface compatibility on a small trial area.
Yorkstone and Cotswold Stone Stone Grey gives a cooler contrast; Yorkstone or Limestone may better suit warmer paving tones.
Granite setts, clay and concrete paving Check colour preference, joint dimensions and the bedding build-up.
Black or dark limestone Contact us before use because of oxidation and staining risks. Check suitability and temporary pre-sealing rather than assuming compatibility.

For surface protection, see Tile Rite Patio Prep. Always trial on your paving before using it across the whole area.

Choosing a Grey Joint for a Larger Paving Project

Stone Grey is worth considering when you want a neutral grey joint rather than a warm buff or cream finish. It can sit comfortably with grey porcelain and cool-toned stone, but a grout sample beside your own paving is more useful than choosing by name alone. On mixed natural stone, compare it with several slabs. Check surface suitability separately and trial your preparation and clean-down method before grouting the whole area.

What Contractors Say About the Flowpoint Range

GARETH WILSON, Hard Landscaping Expert & RHS Award Winner

"Keep your eye on the firmness of the joint — just with a little thumb test. Once firm, then begin washing off. Too many contractors start washing off when the product starts to dry on the slabs. You need to keep the slabs damp with a mist of water so it doesn't go off on them too soon."

JORDAN CLAYTON, Owner of Next Level Landscapes Ltd.

"Flowpoint is our go-to product when it comes to jointing all our paving. I love how it gives me confidence that the products will stand the test of time, allowing homeowners to enjoy their garden for years to come." (Courtesy of Instarmac Group Plc)

Common Flowpoint Myths: Busted

Myth Practical advice
Flowpoint is new and unproven The range has been used for around 25 years on projects worldwide, including New Zealand, Norway, America and Dubai.
It requires specialist equipment A paddle mixer and a long-handled neoprene squeegee and pole work alongside standard paving tools.
It sticks instantly to pavers It is rapid-setting, not instant. Prepare correctly and plan application and clean-down around the weather.
It causes cracking and low spots Early washing can disturb joints. Wait until they are sufficiently firm before clean-down.
It works with every material Trial on your paving. Some darker limestones need particular care because of staining and oxidation risks.
It causes efflorescence Properly cured bedding, the right water ratio and avoiding early pressure-washing all matter.
Paving must stay saturated Without a temporary pre-sealer, keep it damp but remove standing water to avoid diluting the grout.
All bedding must wait 28 days The bed must be properly cured with no visible dampness. Check the curing instructions for your bedding material.

Planning Coverage for Your Project

As a rough guide, a 25kg bag covers 12–20m² on natural stone mixed packs or 1.5–2m² on granite setts. The actual amount depends on your paving dimensions and joint width and depth, so don't order on those figures alone. Check your measurements and compare your calculated bag requirement with the 56 bags supplied. Ask our team if you'd like a hand checking the quantity.

The coverage calculator estimates individual 25kg bags. Compare that figure with the 56 bags on this pallet. If you've got different slab sizes or joint dimensions across the job, calculate each area separately, then add the bag requirements together.

Mixing and Application on a Larger Job

Use 4.25 litres of clean water per 25kg bag. Add powder gradually to water and mix for 3–5 minutes until smooth and pourable. Plan manageable sections and clean-down before opening bags; never add extra water or remix grout that has begun to set.

Without a temporary pre-sealer, pre-soak, remove standing water and keep paving damp. With Tile Rite Patio Prep, follow its preparation method and trial first. Work grout into joints using a neoprene squeegee and pole. Remove excess and wash thoroughly once the joints are firm enough. You'll find the steps and precautions in the mixing tab.

Full Pallet and Product FAQs

I'm Cleo. These are the questions our small team helps contractors and homeowners with when choosing grout. If there's something else you'd like to check, just give us a call.

How many bags are included?

56 x 25kg bags of Flowpoint Premium Smooth Stone Grey: 1,400kg of grout, excluding pallet and packaging.

Does the pallet include free delivery?

Yes, free standard delivery within 3–5 working days to England, Wales and the main areas of Scotland. Some Scottish delivery areas may carry an additional charge; we'll contact you if this applies to your order.

Please let us know about restricted access before ordering. If a smaller lorry is required, an additional charge may apply.

Why buy a full pallet for granite setts?

Smaller units mean more joints per square metre, and wider or deeper joints use more grout too. If you've got a larger sett job, a full pallet can help keep material ready as you work. Check your actual joint dimensions first so you know how many bags you'll need.

How is Smooth different from Premium Standard?

Fine aggregate allows joints from 3mm rather than 5mm. It's useful for narrow-jointed porcelain and paving where you want a finer finish.

What makes Stone Grey different?

Stone Grey is a pure, neutral grey rather than a warm buff or cream tone. We'd suggest comparing a sample with your actual paving, especially contemporary grey porcelain or cool-toned stone.

Why choose it over Limestone or Yorkstone?

Choose Stone Grey for a neutral grey joint. Limestone or Yorkstone may better complement cream, buff or honey-coloured paving. Send us a photo if you're undecided.

Can I use Stone Grey with porcelain paving?

Yes, Premium Smooth Stone Grey is an option for grey and neutral porcelain where you want a fine-textured grey joint. Its joint range starts at 3mm wide and 20mm deep. Check the paving build-up and drainage as well as the colour, and trial the grout before wider use. Consider a temporary pre-grout sealer to help protect the surface during grouting, following the sealer's preparation instructions.

How many bags should I mix at a time?

Only mix what your team can place within the working time shown on the current bag instructions, and leave enough time for clean-down at the right stage. Use 4.25 litres of water per 25kg bag. The initial set of 15–30 minutes isn't the same as working time, so have your water, mixing equipment and washing arrangements ready before starting.

Can I split the pallet between several jobs?

Yes. The 56 bags are individually packed, so you can keep unopened bags for later work within their shelf life. Store them cool, dry and frost-free, and check the manufacturing date when planning the next job. The 8-month shelf life starts at manufacture, not when the pallet arrives.

Can I use it with black limestone?

Please ask us first. Some darker limestone can oxidise or stain. We can talk through suitability, a trial area and temporary pre-sealing with you before you start.

How long does it last?

Up to 40 years when correctly applied. Good preparation and the right paving build-up are important parts of getting that result.

What's the set time?

Initial set is 15–30 minutes at 20°C, with foot traffic after 1 hour. Warmer temperatures speed setting up; cooler temperatures slow it. Check joint firmness before washing.

Is it permeable?

No. It needs a solid, non-permeable bed and adequate drainage falls.

Can I use it in rain?

Light rain is suitable, but remove standing water from joints before starting.

Do I need to pre-seal?

Trial your preparation method first. With a temporary pre-sealer, follow its instructions rather than pre-soaking. Without one, wet the paving, remove standing water and keep the surface damp.

What's the shelf life?

8 months from manufacture, stored unopened, cool, dry and frost-free. Check dates if you plan to use the pallet over several jobs.

How much do I need?

Calculate using paving size and joint width and depth, then compare the required number of 25kg bags with 56. We're happy to check the figures with you before you order.

Mixing and applying Premium Smooth Stone Grey

You'll receive 56 separate 25kg bags. Only mix what your team can place within the working time, and have your clean-down equipment ready before you start. Add 4.25 litres of clean water per 25kg bag to a clean mixing vessel, gradually add the powder and mix for 3–5 minutes until smooth. Do not add extra water or remix material once setting begins. Check the current bag instructions for working time.

  1. Check the bedding is properly cured and the joints are clean.
  2. Without a temporary pre-sealer, pre-soak the paving, remove standing water and keep it damp. With a temporary pre-sealer, follow its preparation instructions. Always try your chosen method on a small area first.
  3. Pour the mixed grout and work it fully into the joints with a neoprene squeegee and pole. Top up any joints where the grout settles and remove the excess.
  4. Wait until the joints are firm enough, then wash thoroughly with clean water and a brush. Leave no mortar on the surface, and wash your tools frequently.
  5. At 20°C, allow 1 hour before foot traffic and 4 hours before vehicles. Cool conditions slow the set; warm conditions speed it up.

Do not apply below 3°C, in direct sunlight or if frost is expected within 24 hours. Wear gloves and eye protection. Wet cement can cause serious skin burns. Keep unopened bags cool, dry and frost-free. Shelf life is 8 months from manufacture.

Flowpoint Premium is a rapid-setting, cement-based paving grout for suitable natural stone, porcelain, concrete flags and granite setts. The flowable mix helps fill the joints, while the correct grade, paving build-up and application method all matter to the finished result. The existing range information describes a service life of up to 40 years when correctly installed, for domestic and commercial projects. Choose the grade by joint dimensions as well as colour. Premium Standard suits joints 5–50mm wide; Premium Smooth has a finer aggregate for joints 3–50mm wide. Both have a joint-depth range of 20–200mm. The 2mm minimum applies to Fine and Porcelpoint, not Premium Smooth. Premium Smooth comes in Limestone, Stone Grey and Yorkstone. Trial the grout and preparation method on your paving before wider use. A temporary pre-grout sealer can help protect the surface during grouting; follow its preparation instructions. Without temporary pre-sealer, dampen paving and joints and remove standing water. Work the grout into the joints with a squeegee and clean thoroughly once the joints are sufficiently firm. Initial set is not the same as working time: check the current bag instructions and joint firmness rather than washing by the clock alone.
