About the product

Flowpoint Premium Smooth Yorkstone: Full Pallet of 56 x 25kg Bags

This full pallet deal contains 56 x 25kg bags of UltraScape Flowpoint Premium Smooth Yorkstone paving grout, with free standard delivery to England, Wales and the main areas of Scotland. If you've got a larger paving job coming up, it gives you 1,400kg in individual bags, ready as you need them. It's worth considering for granite sett paving too, where smaller units and wider or deeper joints can use more grout.

Yorkstone is the warm, buff-toned colour in the Premium Smooth range. It works particularly well alongside Yorkstone flags, Cotswold Stone, buff sandstone, Indian Stone and warm-toned porcelain. If your paving has golden or honey tones, it offers a warmer alternative to Stone Grey. We'd always suggest checking a sample against your own paving before ordering a full pallet.

Fine aggregate for joints 3–50mm wide and 20–200mm deep, an initial set of 15–30 minutes at 20°C, foot traffic after 1 hour and vehicles after 4 hours. Supplied as 56 individually packed 25kg bags, not a single bag.

We're a small, family-run business. I'm Cleo, the owner, with over 25 years in the construction industry working with businesses including Tarmac and Instarmac. Our team helps contractors and homeowners choose between grout grades, colours and quantities. If you're unsure whether Yorkstone will suit your paving, send us a photo and we'll talk it through.

Which Paving Suits the Yorkstone Colour?

Paving What to consider
Yorkstone and Cotswold Stone The warm buff tone complements golden and honey-coloured paving.
Buff sandstone and Indian Stone A warmer joint colour than a neutral grey; check against the variations in your stone.
Warm-toned porcelain Fine aggregate suits narrow joints from 3mm. Trial the grout and surface preparation first.
Pale limestone Check colour and surface compatibility before wider use.
Granite setts, clay and concrete paving Check colour choice, joint dimensions and the bedding build-up.
Black or dark limestone Contact us before use because of oxidation and staining risks. A pre-sealer is not a substitute for checking suitability.

For surface protection see Tile Rite Patio Prep and our black limestone guide.

Choosing Yorkstone Grout for a Larger Patio

Across a whole patio, the joint colour can make quite a difference. Yorkstone is worth a look if you want a warm buff joint alongside golden sandstone or honey-toned flags, rather than a cooler grey contrast. Compare your sample with several slabs, not just one, as natural stone can vary noticeably across a mixed pack. Once you're happy with the colour, try the grout and your preparation method on a small area too.

What Contractors Say About the Flowpoint Range

GARETH WILSON, Hard Landscaping Expert & RHS Award Winner

"As with other Flowpoint grades, be patient and hold your nerve so you don't wash the product off too soon. Too many contractors start washing off when the product starts to dry on the slabs. You need to keep the slabs damp with a mist of water so it doesn't go off on them too soon. Always make sure Flowpoint is set in the joint before washing it off. Keep your eye on the firmness of the joint — just with a little thumb test. Once firm, then begin washing off."

JORDAN CLAYTON, Owner of Next Level Landscapes Ltd.

"Flowpoint is our go-to product when it comes to jointing all our paving. Like the rest of the materials, I love how it gives me confidence that the products will stand the test of time, allowing homeowners to enjoy their garden for years to come." (Courtesy of Instarmac Group Plc)

Working Out How Much You Need

As a rough guide, a 25kg bag covers 12–20m² on natural stone mixed packs or 1.5–2m² on granite setts. Your paving sizes and joint width and depth determine the actual amount, so don't order from those ranges alone. Send us your measurements if you'd like help working out the number of bags, then compare that with the 56 bags supplied.

The coverage calculator gives a figure in individual 25kg bags. Compare that number with the 56 bags on this pallet. If you've got several slab sizes or different joint depths across the job, work out each area separately before adding the quantities together.

Planning Your Mixing and Application

Use 4.25 litres of clean water per 25kg bag and mix for 3–5 minutes until smooth and pourable. Only mix what your team can place within the working time. Have your preparation, application and clean-down arrangements ready before opening bags. Never add extra water or remix material that has begun to set.

Without a temporary pre-sealer, pre-soak the paving, remove standing water and keep the surface damp during application. With a temporary pre-sealer such as Tile Rite Patio Prep or Nexus ProJoint Pre-Grout, follow its preparation instructions and trial first. Work grout fully into joints using a neoprene squeegee and pole. Remove excess and wash thoroughly when joints are firm enough.

Full Pallet and Product FAQs

I'm Cleo. These are the buying and application questions our small team helps customers with. If you're weighing up colours or quantities for a job, we're happy to help.

Why buy a full pallet for granite sett paving?

Smaller units mean more joints per square metre. Wider or deeper joints use more grout too. If you've got a larger sett project, a 56-bag pallet can keep material ready as you work. Check your actual joint dimensions first so you know how much you'll need.

How many bags do I receive?

56 x 25kg bags of Premium Smooth Yorkstone, giving 1,400kg of grout.

Is delivery free?

Free standard 3–5 working day delivery is included to England, Wales and the main areas of Scotland. Some Scottish delivery areas may carry an additional charge; we'll contact you if this applies to your order.

Please let us know about restricted access before ordering. If a smaller lorry is required, an additional charge may apply.

How is Smooth different from Premium Standard?

Its finer aggregate fills joints from 3mm rather than 5mm, useful for fine-jointed porcelain and natural stone.

Why choose Yorkstone rather than Limestone or Stone Grey?

Yorkstone has a warm buff tone for golden or honey-coloured paving. Stone Grey is a neutral grey; Limestone is a warm cream/buff option. Check a sample against your paving rather than relying on the colour name.

Can I use it with porcelain paving?

Yes, Premium Smooth Yorkstone is an option for warm-toned porcelain where you want a buff joint. The fine aggregate suits joints from 3mm, but the joints must also meet the 20mm minimum depth. As well as choosing the colour, check the paving build-up, drainage and surface preparation, then carry out a trial. A temporary pre-grout sealer can help with clean-down; follow its instructions rather than automatically pre-soaking sealed paving.

Can I mix several bags at once?

Only mix what your team can place within the product's working time, with clean-down planned for the right stage. Use 4.25 litres of clean water per 25kg bag, and check the current bag instructions before starting. The 15–30 minute initial set isn't the same as working time. Have water, mixing equipment and washing arrangements ready so you can keep the job moving.

Can I use the pallet over several jobs?

Yes. You can use the individual bags as you need them and keep the rest sealed, cool, dry and frost-free. Check the manufacturing date, as the 8-month shelf life runs from manufacture, not delivery. Allow for each job's quantity and timing when setting bags aside.

Can I use it with black limestone?

Please get in touch first. Some darker limestones can oxidise or stain. We can talk through your stone, a trial area and temporary pre-sealing before you start.

How long does it last?

Up to 40 years when correctly installed. Preparation, the paving build-up and careful application all play a part in getting that result.

When does it set?

Initial set is 15–30 minutes at 20°C, with foot traffic after 1 hour. Cooler conditions slow the set; warmer conditions speed it up. Check joint firmness before washing.

Is it permeable?

No. Use a solid, non-permeable bed with adequate drainage falls.

Can I apply it in rain?

Light rain is suitable, but remove standing water from joints before starting.

Do I need to pre-seal?

Try your chosen method on a small area first. With a temporary pre-sealer, follow the sealer preparation method rather than pre-soaking. Without one, pre-soak, remove standing water and keep the surface damp.

How should I store a full pallet?

Keep unopened bags cool, dry and frost-free, between 5°C and 30°C. Shelf life is 8 months from manufacture, not from delivery, so check dates if you're keeping bags for a later stage of the job.

How much do I need?

Calculate using paving dimensions, joint width and joint depth. Compare the resulting number of 25kg bags with the 56 supplied. If you'd like a second check, send us your measurements and we'll work through them with you.

It needs specialist equipment A paddle mixer and a neoprene squeegee and 3 section pole work alongside standard paving tools.
It sticks instantly to paving It is rapid-setting, not instant. Prepare the surface correctly and organise clean-down before mixing.
It causes cracking and low spots Early washing can disturb joints. Check joint firmness with the thumb test before clean-down.
It works on every material Trial it on your paving. Dark limestone needs particular care and advice.
It causes efflorescence Check bedding cure and avoid excess mixing water. Correct preparation matters.
Paving must stay saturated Without a temporary pre-sealer, keep paving damp but remove standing water to avoid diluting the grout.
Every bed needs 28 days before grouting The bedding must be properly cured, with no visible dampness. Check the instructions for your bedding material.

Mixing and applying Premium Smooth Yorkstone

Only mix what your team can place within the working time, and have your clean-down equipment ready before starting. Add 4.25 litres of clean water per 25kg bag to a clean mixing vessel, gradually add the powder and mix for 3–5 minutes until smooth. Never add extra water or remix once setting begins. Check the current bag instructions for working time.

  1. Check the bedding is properly cured and the joints are clean.
  2. Without a temporary pre-sealer, pre-soak the paving, remove all standing water and keep it damp. With a temporary pre-sealer, follow its preparation instructions. Try your chosen method on a small area first.
  3. Pour the mixed grout and work it fully into the joints with a neoprene squeegee and pole. Top up joints where the grout settles and remove the excess.
  4. Wait until the joints are firm enough, then wash thoroughly using clean water and a brush. Leave no grout on the paving, and wash your tools frequently.
  5. Allow 1 hour before foot traffic and 4 hours before vehicles at 20°C. Temperature affects setting.

Do not apply below 3°C, in direct sunlight or if frost is expected within 24 hours. Wear gloves and eye protection: wet cement can cause serious skin burns. Keep unopened bags cool, dry and frost-free. Shelf life is 8 months from manufacture.

Flowpoint Premium is a rapid-setting, cement-based paving grout for suitable natural stone, porcelain, concrete flags and granite setts. The flowable mix helps fill the joints, while the correct grade, paving build-up and application method all matter to the finished result. The existing range information describes a service life of up to 40 years when correctly installed, for domestic and commercial projects. Choose the grade by joint dimensions as well as colour. Premium Standard suits joints 5–50mm wide; Premium Smooth has a finer aggregate for joints 3–50mm wide. Both have a joint-depth range of 20–200mm. The 2mm minimum applies to Fine and Porcelpoint, not Premium Smooth. Premium Smooth comes in Limestone, Stone Grey and Yorkstone. Trial the grout and preparation method on your paving before wider use. A temporary pre-grout sealer can help protect the surface during grouting; follow its preparation instructions. Without temporary pre-sealer, dampen paving and joints and remove standing water. Work the grout into the joints with a squeegee and clean thoroughly once the joints are sufficiently firm. Initial set is not the same as working time: check the current bag instructions and joint firmness rather than washing by the clock alone.
