How to prepare surfaces for UltraScape Slipbond
Remove loose material, debris, laitance, grease, paint and efflorescence from the wall or floor substrate. Concrete, masonry and other substrates should be thoroughly dampened with clean water, with surplus water removed before application.
How to mix Slipbond
- Add Slipbond slowly to 5.2 litres of clean water per 20kg bag.
- Mix thoroughly, ideally with a forced-action mixer, for approximately 3 minutes until you have a slump-free, workable adhesive.
- Mix only enough material to use within the approximately 2-hour pot life at 20°C. Do not remix or re-wet.
A full pallet contains 56 bags, so plan mixing around the working time and the area you can prepare and place accurately.
How to apply Slipbond
- Use a trowel to apply the adhesive to the prepared substrate with enough pressure to make good contact.
- For large-format stone, back-butter the stone unit before embedding it.
- Apply stone or brick slips within 25 minutes of laying the adhesive bed.
- Keep the bed between 3mm and 20mm, as required by the installation.

If you’re buying adhesive for a bigger landscaping, cladding or paving job, this listing gives you 56 × 20kg bags of UltraScape Slipbond, with FREE delivery included. It’s the same flexible, polymer-modified adhesive as the single-bag option, supplied in a quantity that makes sense when you already know you’ll need a fair bit on site.
Slipbond is used for brick slips and natural stone on suitable internal and external walls and floors. It can also be used for suitable porcelain or natural stone paving on a sound, prepared concrete base. It has an A1 Fire Rated classification, is frost resistant and can be applied from 3mm to 20mm.
One 20kg bag covers approximately 5m² at 3mm, so 56 bags cover approximately 280m². That is a planning figure, not a promise of a finished area. Uneven bases, thicker beds and waste will all reduce coverage, so it’s worth allowing a little margin before ordering.

Is a full pallet the right quantity?
A full pallet is usually worth considering when you have a larger patio, several plots to complete, an external wall or cladding project, or regular work coming up. You receive 56 bags, with a total product weight of 1,120kg, on a shrink-wrapped pallet. FREE delivery is included with this listing.
If you only need a smaller amount, the single 20kg bag and 32-bag part pallet are better places to start. If you’re unsure, tell us the approximate area, bed thickness and paving or cladding material and we’ll help you work out the likely quantity.
What can Slipbond be used for?
Brick slips and external walls
Slipbond is suitable for fixing brick slips to prepared sand/cement render, brick, blockwork and suitable external wall installation systems. It is frost resistant and flexible, which matters on exposed work where rain, cold weather and temperature changes are part of the job. The substrate and complete wall system still need to be suitable, clean and sound.
Natural stone cladding
Slipbond can be used with suitable natural stone on internal and external walls and floors. With large-format stone, back-butter the unit before embedding it so you have good contact across the fixing area. Take care with the preparation, because an adhesive cannot compensate for a weak or moving base.
Porcelain and natural stone paving on concrete
For landscapers, Slipbond can be useful where a customer has a sound existing concrete base and wants suitable porcelain or natural stone laid over it. It provides the bonding layer between the prepared concrete and the paving. Check the base carefully first. If it is cracked, moving, damp or otherwise unsuitable, it needs dealing with before any adhesive is ordered.
Internal floors and underfloor heating
Slipbond is suitable for appropriate internal floor applications and underfloor heating. Follow the installation specification for the floor build-up and allow the adhesive and bedding system to set before putting the area into use.

How is Slipbond supplied?
The full pallet contains 56 showerproof 20kg paper bags, weighing 1,120kg in total. Each bag needs 5.2 litres of clean water. The mixed adhesive has an approximately 2-hour pot life at 20°C, a 16-hour set time and a 3–20mm bed range. It has a shelf life of 8 months from the date of manufacture when unopened and stored in a cool, dry, frost-free area between 5°C and 30°C.

Can Slipbond be used outside?
Yes. It is suitable for appropriate internal and external applications and is frost resistant. The base, material and complete installation system must still be suitable for the location.
Can I use Slipbond for brick slips?
Yes. Brick slips are one of its main uses. It can be used on suitable prepared render, brick, blockwork and external wall installation systems.
Can I use Slipbond with natural stone?
Yes. It is suitable for appropriate natural stone applications. With large-format pieces, back-butter the stone before embedding it.
Can Slipbond be used on concrete?
Yes, where the concrete is sound, clean, prepared and suitable for the proposed wall, floor or paving installation. It will not repair a cracked or moving base.
Can Slipbond be used for porcelain paving?
It can be used for suitable porcelain on a prepared concrete base where this type of adhesive is appropriate. Check the full paving build-up before ordering, particularly if the existing concrete has any movement or damage.
How much does a full pallet cover?
At 3mm depth, one bag covers approximately 5m² and 56 bags cover approximately 280m². At 10mm, the guide figure is approximately 84m² for the pallet, and at the maximum 20mm bed it is approximately 42m². Actual coverage varies with the job.
How much water does each bag need?
Use 5.2 litres of clean water per 20kg bag.
How long can I work with it?
The pot life is approximately 2 hours at 20°C. Stone or brick slips should be applied within 25 minutes of laying the adhesive bed. Warmer conditions can shorten working time.
How thick can it be applied?
The bed thickness is approximately 3–20mm.
How long does it take to set?
The set time is approximately 16 hours. Conditions and the complete installation can affect how quickly the work is ready for the next stage.
Is Slipbond suitable for underfloor heating?
Yes, for suitable internal floor applications. Follow the full floor specification and do not bring the system into use before it has set properly.
Is Slipbond frost resistant?
Yes. It is frost resistant, but the substrate and installation still need to be protected from unsuitable conditions while the work is setting.
Is Slipbond A1 Fire Rated?
Yes. Slipbond has an A1 Fire Rated classification. If you are working on a specified wall or cladding system, check the requirements of the complete build-up rather than relying on one product in isolation.
How long does it last unopened?
The shelf life is 8 months from the date of manufacture when the bags are unopened and stored in a cool, dry, frost-free area between 5°C and 30°C. High temperatures and high humidity can reduce shelf life.

Our delivery charges are calculated based on the size and weight of your order. When you add items to your basket, the delivery charges are displayed. Small orders are distributed via courier; larger orders via Pallet Network. Collection is available from our Tamworth depot by request (contact us first to arrange on 0330 122 1025).

How to prepare surfaces for UltraScape Slipbond
Remove loose material, debris, laitance, grease, paint and efflorescence from the wall or floor substrate. Concrete, masonry and other substrates should be thoroughly dampened with clean water, with surplus water removed before application.
How to mix Slipbond
- Add Slipbond slowly to 5.2 litres of clean water per 20kg bag.
- Mix thoroughly, ideally with a forced-action mixer, for approximately 3 minutes until you have a slump-free, workable adhesive.
- Mix only enough material to use within the approximately 2-hour pot life at 20°C. Do not remix or re-wet.
A full pallet contains 56 bags, so plan mixing around the working time and the area you can prepare and place accurately.
How to apply Slipbond
- Use a trowel to apply the adhesive to the prepared substrate with enough pressure to make good contact.
- For large-format stone, back-butter the stone unit before embedding it.
- Apply stone or brick slips within 25 minutes of laying the adhesive bed.
- Keep the bed between 3mm and 20mm, as required by the installation.
- Allow approximately 16 hours for the set time before continuing with the next stage.
Cleaning
Clean tools in water immediately after use. Protect the work from unsuitable weather and follow the project specification for the substrate and cladding system.
