- Ensure the SWM680 or SWM620 machine is switched off and water buckets are removed.
- Remove the old sponge by loosening the top pressure roller, wringer roller, and glide control bar. Place the machine on its side and slide out the used sponge.
- Install the new sponge by sliding it over the rollers, slightly wet for easier positioning, and align it carefully with the guides.
- Re-insert the wringer roller and glide control bar, tighten the top pressure roller, and refill water buckets to the recommended level.
- Operate the machine over newly grouted paving in diagonal strokes, forward motion pre-cleans, and backward motion removes residue from joints.
- Adjust machine height and lift slightly over uneven surfaces to ensure a consistent clean.
- Change water frequently to prevent foam build-up; use Schwammfix De-Foaming Agent if needed.
- Rinse sponge thoroughly after use and store out of direct sunlight to maintain durability.

How to Fit the Heavy Duty Grout Sponge
- Disconnect the SWM680 machine from the power source (if electric) or ensure the petrol engine is off.
- Remove the water container from the machine carefully.
- Loosen the top pressure roller and glide control bar on the sponge system.
- Remove the existing sponge from the machine, placing it aside for cleaning or disposal.
- Insert the new heavy-duty sponge, slightly moistened for smooth sliding.
- Line up the sponge over the rollers, replace the top pressure roller and glide control bar, and secure all fastenings.
- Reattach the water container and check all parts are secure before operation.
How to Use the Sponge with the SWM680
- Fill the water container to the recommended level – avoid overfilling.
- Ensure the sponge belt is wet before starting and never run dry.
