Why Flowpoint?

If you’ve worked on paving jobs where speed, strength and a clean finish matter (and let’s face it – when don’t they?), chances are you’ve come across Flowpoint.

Known for its rapid-setting technology, Flowpoint has become a firm favourite among landscapers and civil contractors who need a grout that won’t slow the job down.

Flowpoint isn’t just popular – it’s reliable, fast and formulated for high-performance paving projects that stand the test of time.

Handling both narrow and wide joints, areas finished with this high-strength formula can be opened to vehicle traffic after just 4 hours. For commercial sites or high-traffic areas where downtime isn’t an option, that’s a massive win.

All Flowpoint grouts are:

  • Economical to use and offer exceptional bond strength
  • Easy to apply with a simple slurry method
  • Rapid setting: open the area to foot traffic in 1 hour, vehicles in 4 hours
  • British Standard BS 7533 compliant
  • Suitable for natural stone, concrete, porcelain, and more
  • Suitable for joint depths of 20mm to 200mm
  • Expected to last 40 years or more without needing to regrout

The New Flowpoint Premium Range

New for 2025, the manufacturers of Flowpoint launched four new premium grades to add to the range.

Armed with all the same characteristics and benefits of the trusted Flowpoint family, the new grades come in two unique, high-end colour options.

Flowpoint’s core range – Standard, ECO and Smooth – have now been expanded with premium-grade counterparts: Premium Standard, Premium ECO and Premium Smooth.

Likewise, the ultra-smooth Flowpoint Fine is now also available in a premium version, known as Porcelpoint. This grout is specifically made for porcelain tiles.

Common Questions

Still unsure about which Flowpoint grade to choose? Find the answers to all the common questions we get on the matter. Get in touch if you need some extra help.

How is Flowpoint Premium different from other grouts in the range?

Flowpoint Premium includes the same trusted formula as Flowpoint Standard in two premium grout colours: Limestone and Stone Grey.

Why is Flowpoint Premium more expensive?

The premium grades in the Flowpoint range do come at a slightly higher price. That’s mainly down to the specialist pigments needed to achieve the Stone Grey and Limestone colours. These colourants cost more to source and manufacture, which is reflected in the final price.

What’s the difference between Flowpoint Fine and Smooth?

Flowpoint Smooth offers a traditional look with a refined finish, using a fine but visible aggregate – perfect for joint widths from 3mm and great with materials like porcelain or natural stone.

Flowpoint Fine, on the other hand, is designed for super-thin joints down to 2mm, with an ultra-fine aggregate that delivers a sleek, seamless finish – ideal for modern paving with a contemporary indoor finish.

Is Porcelpoint part of the Flowpoint range?

Yes, Porcelpoint is the premium version of Flowpoint Fine, in the new grout colours of Limestone and Stone Grey.

Are there times to avoid using Flowpoint?

When using some darker limestones such as black limestone, there can be a slight oxidisation when using Flowpoint.

Also, avoid using Flowpoint on a hot, sunny day as the grout will set in no time. During warm weather, install the grout during the cooler parts of the day such as the morning or late afternoon.

What’s the best foundation for using Flowpoint?

Always lay your slabs or pavers on a solid, non-permeable bed – Eco-Bed Bedding Mortar is ideal. Make sure each slab is fully bonded to the bedding layer, and use a slurry primer like Pro-Prime for extra strength and adhesion.

Using the combination of Eco-Bed, Pro-Prime and one of the Flowpoint grouts meet BS 7533 standards, giving your paving a lifespan of up to 40 years without needing to regrout.

Do I need to pre-seal my paving?

Not always. But if you’re working with porous stone like slate or black granite, pre-sealing helps prevent grout staining. We recommend ProJoint Pre-Grout Sealer – it’s invisible, easy to use and works on most natural and concrete paving.

How easy is it to install Flowpoint?
