PRO-820 ECO or a pre-grout sealer?
For post-grouting protection, we usually recommend allowing a couple of months after laying before sealing, so any efflorescence can dissipate through the paving and grout lines rather than being sealed into the surface. The ProJoint Pre-Grout Stone & Porcelain Paving Sealer can be used before grouting to help minimise grout haze or resin sheen during installation. PRO-820 ECO is not a replacement for that dedicated pre-grout product.
How to prepare and apply PRO-820 ECO
- Make sure the paving is sound, clean, dry and free from dirt, dust, oil, residues and other contamination.
- If the paving has already been grouted, allow the grouting material to fully cure. We usually recommend waiting a couple of months after laying the slabs or tiles, allowing efflorescence to dissipate through the paving and grout lines before sealing.
- We recommend cleaning with Nexus Paving & Driveway Cleaner where appropriate, then allowing the paving to dry completely.
- Always test the sealer on a small, inconspicuous area first, particularly on light, textured or porous paving.
- Use the product neat and apply it by brush, roller or spray in a complete, even coat.
- Remove any excess sealer from the surface. Avoid leaving pools or uneven residue.
- Allow the first coat to dry, then apply a thin, even second coat for increased protection.
- Drying will normally take around 2 hours, with full curing taking up to 24 hours. Protect the area from rain until cured.
- Apply between 5°C and 30°C and follow the product label and technical datasheet.

Substrates should be sound, clean, dry and free from dirt, dust, oil, residues and other contamination. We recommend cleaning with Nexus Paving & Driveway Cleaner where appropriate. Always test a small, inconspicuous area first.
Application
The sealer is supplied ready for use. Apply between 5°C and 30°C by brush, roller or spray, using a complete, even coat. Remove excess and avoid pooling. Allow to dry, then apply a thin, even second coat. Drying will normally occur within around 2 hours, with full curing taking up to 24 hours. Protect from rain until cured.
For the pre-grouting stage, use the ProJoint Pre-Grout Stone & Porcelain Paving Sealer where appropriate to help minimise grout haze or resin sheen.

What is PRO-820 ECO used for?
PRO-820 ECO is an impregnating sealer for porcelain, natural stone and concrete paving, including textured porcelain surfaces. It can be used indoors or outdoors and is suitable for paving that needs protection from everyday dirt, staining, water penetration and natural weathering.
Although the sealer can be applied once compatible ProJoint grout has fully cured, we usually recommend waiting a couple of months after laying the slabs or tiles. This gives any efflorescence time to dissipate through the paving and grout lines before the surface is sealed, rather than trapping it against the surface of the slab. The ProJoint Pre-Grout Stone & Porcelain Paving Sealer can be used before grouting to help minimise grout haze or resin sheen during installation.

PRO-820 ECO or a pre-grout sealer?
For post-grouting protection, we usually recommend allowing a couple of months after laying before sealing, so any efflorescence can dissipate through the paving and grout lines rather than being sealed into the surface. The ProJoint Pre-Grout Stone & Porcelain Paving Sealer can be used before grouting to help minimise grout haze or resin sheen during installation. PRO-820 ECO is not a replacement for that dedicated pre-grout product.
How to prepare and apply PRO-820 ECO
- Make sure the paving is sound, clean, dry and free from dirt, dust, oil, residues and other contamination.
- If the paving has already been grouted, allow the grouting material to fully cure. We usually recommend waiting a couple of months after laying the slabs or tiles, allowing efflorescence to dissipate through the paving and grout lines before sealing.
- We recommend cleaning with Nexus Paving & Driveway Cleaner where appropriate, then allowing the paving to dry completely.
- Always test the sealer on a small, inconspicuous area first, particularly on light, textured or porous paving.
- Use the product neat and apply it by brush, roller or spray in a complete, even coat.
- Remove any excess sealer from the surface. Avoid leaving pools or uneven residue.
- Allow the first coat to dry, then apply a thin, even second coat for increased protection.
- Drying will normally take around 2 hours, with full curing taking up to 24 hours. Protect the area from rain until cured.
- Apply between 5°C and 30°C and follow the product label and technical datasheet.
Coverage and pack sizes
Coverage depends on the paving type, porosity, texture and application method. As a guide, natural stone can cover up to 15m² per litre and porcelain up to 30m² per litre. PRO-820 ECO is available in 1L, 5L and 25L containers.
