The Starter Kit contains a balanced ratio of 50 caps to 150 bases — enough to get a job underway and see exactly how the spin-to-level mechanism works in practice. Because the caps are reusable, you only ever need to top up the bases once you're through your initial supply. Which Size Is Right for My Project?

How to Use the Big Spin Hurricane 4mm Starter Kit

1. Begin by spreading your tile adhesive over the surface in the usual way.
2. Slide the threaded spacer base underneath the edge of the tile until it sits flush against the tile face.
3. Use 4 bases per standard square tile (one at each corner); use 6 for larger-format tiles or planks.
4. Lay the adjacent tile into position.
5. Place the cap onto the threaded base and spin it down until both tile surfaces are brought into alignment and flush with each other.
6. Continue across the installation. The system holds tiles in place while the adhesive cures overnight, eliminating slumping, sinkage and lippage.
7. Once the adhesive has fully cured, remove the bases by kicking them off with your foot or using a rubber mallet in the direction of the grout joint.
8. Unscrew the caps, clean off any adhesive residue, and store them in the tub for the next job.

Clean any excess adhesive from the base and cap before it cures to make removal easier.

If you want a slightly more generous joint that's more forgiving of minor variation in tile edge, the 5mm is the natural step up. Always follow your tile manufacturer's guidance on joint width where it exists.

Are the caps reusable?
Yes — genuinely. The caps are the part you keep. After the adhesive cures, kick off the bases, unscrew the caps, clean them off, and store them in the tub for the next job. Only the bases need replacing between installations. The 100-cap tub (BSHC177) is available separately if you ever need to add to your supply.

Can I use the caps from this kit with separate 4mm bases?
Absolutely. The caps are interchangeable across the full Big Spin Hurricane range — Standard and Deep. Once your 150 starter bases are used up, just top up with the 250-base 4mm tub and keep going with the same caps.

Can I mix Standard and Deep bases on the same job?
