About the product

Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout 400ml - Tan

High-Strength, Gun-Applied Epoxy Grout for Outdoor Porcelain Paving

The Easy, No-Mess, No-Fuss Way to Grout Outdoor Porcelain

Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout is a two-part, gun-applied epoxy paving grout developed specifically for outdoor porcelain paving, ceramic tiles and smooth stone.

Designed for 1–5mm joints with a minimum depth of 10mm, Joint-It creates a hard-wearing, waterproof and non-permeable joint without the cement slurry, staining concerns and time-sensitive wash-off associated with many traditional external paving grouts.

Simply apply, set, tool and scrape for a clean, professional-looking finish.

  • 400ml dual cartridge
  • Application nozzle included
  • Colours: Raven, Grey & Tan (this listing is for Tan)
  • 1–5mm joints
  • 10mm minimum depth
  • Approx. 2m² coverage at 5mm joints
  • EG: 50m² patio using 600 × 900mm paving with 3mm joints: approximately 2.76m² coverage per 400ml cartridge, 18 - 19 cartridges.
  • Buy a single unit, or pack of 24 (24 tubes per box)

Why Choose Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout?

Joint-It has been designed with both professional landscapers and homeowners in mind.

Super-Strength

Joint-It sets rock hard to create a durable, long-lasting paving joint. The product has a stated tested strength of 55nm2.

Non-Staining

The resin-based, cement-free formulation is designed to provide a non-staining solution for porcelain and smooth paving, helping avoid some of the staining and efflorescence concerns associated with cement-based external grouts.

Less Mess, Less Fuss

Gun-apply Joint-It directly into the joints for a cleaner, more controlled application with no cement slurry or messy wash-off process. Excess grout can simply be scraped away once set, helping keep your porcelain paving clean and your installation hassle-free.

Waterproof & Non-Permeable

Once cured, Joint-It creates a waterproof, impermeable joint designed to help prevent dirt and grime from being absorbed.

Anti-Mildew

The formulation is designed to resist mildew, helping keep outdoor paving joints cleaner with less maintenance.

UV Resistant & Colour Fast

Joint-It is designed for outdoor use, with UV-resistant and colour-fast properties to help the grout retain its appearance.

Low Maintenance

Joint-It is designed to provide 10+ years of low-maintenance performance when correctly installed.

Apply. Set. Scrape. Done.

One of the biggest advantages of Joint-It is its straightforward application process.

Traditional cement-based paving grouts can require careful timing when removing excess material. Too much or too little water, or leaving the product too long, can make the clean-up process more difficult.

Joint-It works differently.

Soak Tube 30 Mins → Wax → Gun Apply → Set → Tool → Scrape

The epoxy grout is applied directly into the joints using a compatible 400ml twin-tube cartridge gun. Once it has set sufficiently, excess grout can be peeled or scraped from the protected paving surface.

There is no frantic wash-off process and no cement slurry.

The result is a cleaner, more controlled grouting process and a professional-looking finish.

Designed for Outdoor Porcelain Paving

Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout is suitable for:

  • Outdoor porcelain paving
  • Porcelain patio slabs
  • Ceramic tiles
  • Smooth natural stone
  • Smooth manufactured stone
  • Garden paths
  • Terraces
  • Outdoor kitchens
  • Residential landscaping
  • Professional paving projects

It is designed for:

Joint width: 1–5mm
Minimum joint depth: 10mm

For typical contemporary porcelain paving, Joint-It is particularly well suited to 2mm and 3mm joints.

Important: Check Your Paving Before Buying

Joint-It is designed for smooth paving surfaces where a finishing tool or scraper can be pulled smoothly across the top of the paving.

It is not suitable for paving with:

  • Rough edges
  • Beveled edges
  • Hand-cut edges
  • Uneven or irregular finishes
  • Surfaces where excess epoxy cannot be smoothly scraped away

This is important because Joint-It is designed to be applied slightly above the surface before the excess is removed once the grout has hardened.

If your paving has a rough or irregular edge, choose a jointing product specifically designed for that type of surface.

How Does Joint-It Epoxy Grout Work?

Joint-It is supplied as a 400ml dual cartridge containing Part A and Part B.

The two components remain separate inside the cartridge and are mixed automatically as they pass through the supplied application nozzle.

Part A + Part B → Mixed in nozzle → Applied directly into the joint

The cartridge is used with a compatible 400ml twin-tube cartridge gun dispenser, which is purchased separately.

The product can be applied using a suitable manual or electric gun.

Manual Gun

Ideal for:

  • Smaller patios
  • Repairs & Detailing
  • Touch-ups
  • Smaller paving projects

Electric Gun

Particularly useful for:

  • Larger patios
  • Paths
  • Extensive landscaping projects
  • Commercial installations
  • Continuous application across larger areas

The Key to a Clean Finish: Joint-It Anti Bonding Wax

Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout must be used with Joint-It Anti Bonding Wax.

The wax is applied to the paving surface along both sides of the joint before grouting.

It creates a barrier between the epoxy grout and the paving, making it easier to remove excess grout once it has set.

How to use the wax

Apply a generous amount using the supplied sponge approximately 10–15 minutes before grouting.

The wax does not need to be chemically removed afterwards. It will naturally weather away from the paving over the following weeks.

For the best result, make sure the paving is clean and dry before application.

How to Apply Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout

Follow these steps for a clean, professional finish.

1. Check the conditions

Use Joint-It between 5°C and 25°C.

Do not apply in rain. The paving must be clean and dry, and you should not begin the installation if rain is expected during application.

2. Check the joints

Make sure the joints are:

  • 1–5mm wide
  • At least 10mm deep

The paving must also be securely installed on a full contact bed with no movement.

3. Prepare the cartridge

Place the cartridge tubes in warm water for approximately 30 minutes before use, as specified in the supplied product information.

Remove the twist cap and screw on the supplied application nozzle.

Cut the nozzle at approximately 45°, using a clean, sharp blade, to suit the width of your joint.

4. Load the gun

Insert the 400ml dual cartridge into a compatible twin-tube cartridge gun.

Make sure the cartridge is securely seated before beginning application.

5. Activate the epoxy

Squeeze out and discard approximately the first 2cm of product to ensure Parts A and B are properly mixed and the epoxy has activated.

6. Apply the grout

Gun-apply the grout slowly and evenly into the joint.

Apply enough product so that the grout sits slightly above the paving surface.

7. Allow it to begin setting

Leave the grout for approximately 10–15 minutes to begin setting.

8. Tool the joint

Once the grout has started to set, use a suitable ball-end finishing tool to smooth and shape the joint.

9. Remove excess grout

Once the grout is hard to the touch, use a suitable blade or grout scraper to peel or scrape away the excess.

If the grout remains sticky or difficult to scrape cleanly, it is not ready. Allow it to harden further.

10. Allow the installation to cure

The finished joint will continue to harden after the initial application.

Joint-It has a matte finish, although it can sometimes appear slightly glossy initially. This appearance should reduce as the product settles over the following days or weeks.

Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout Coverage

A 400ml cartridge covers approximately 2m² at a 5mm joint width.

Actual coverage varies depending on:

  • Joint width
  • Joint depth
  • Paving slab dimensions
  • Paving layout

Example: 50m² Patio

For a 50m² patio using 600 × 900mm paving with 3mm joints, the estimated coverage is approximately 2.76m² per 400ml cartridge.

50 ÷ 2.76 = 18.12

Allow approximately 18–19 cartridges for this example.

Always allow for variations in joint dimensions and site conditions when calculating how much grout you need. For an exact calculation contact our team on ☎️ 0330 122 1025

Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout Colours

Joint-It is available in:

Grey

A versatile contemporary shade that works well with a wide range of porcelain paving.

Raven

A darker shade designed to create stronger definition between paving slabs.

Tan

A warmer, natural-looking option for complementary outdoor paving designs.

Always Test the Colour First

The final appearance of epoxy grout can vary depending on:

  • Paving colour
  • Paving finish
  • Joint width
  • Lighting
  • Sunlight
  • Shade
  • Surrounding materials

We recommend testing the grout on a spare tile or small inconspicuous area and allowing it to cure fully before committing to the entire installation.

What Do You Need to Apply Joint-It?

For a complete Joint-It installation, you will need:

  1. Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout 400ml cartridge
  2. Supplied application nozzle
  3. Joint-It Anti Bonding Wax & sponge
  4. Compatible 400ml twin-tube cartridge gun
  5. Tiler's ball-end finishing tool
  6. Grout scraper or suitable sharp blade

Important

The cartridge gun & ball finishing tool are not included with the 400ml Joint-It cartridge.

The cartridge and application nozzle are supplied separately from the compatible gun dispenser.

What Type of Base Does Joint-It Require?

Joint-It should only be used where the paving has been correctly installed on a stable, full-contact, non-permeable mortar bed.

The paving must have sufficient support underneath and must not move.

A full-contact installation helps provide stability and adhesion while reducing the risk of voids beneath slabs that can retain water and contribute to movement or instability.

Joint-It is a jointing product, not a substitute for correct paving installation.

UV Resistant & Colour Fast

Joint-It is designed for outdoor use, with UV-resistant and colour-fast properties to help the grout retain its appearance.

Low Maintenance

Joint-It is designed to provide 10+ years of low-maintenance performance when correctly installed.

Apply. Set. Scrape. Done.

Designed for Outdoor Porcelain Paving

Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout is suitable for:

  • Outdoor porcelain paving
  • Porcelain patio slabs
  • Ceramic tiles
  • Smooth natural stone
  • Smooth manufactured stone
  • Garden paths
  • Terraces
  • Outdoor kitchens
  • Residential landscaping
  • Professional paving projects

It is designed for:

Joint width: 1–5mm
Minimum joint depth: 10mm

For typical contemporary porcelain paving, Joint-It is particularly well suited to 2mm and 3mm joints.

Important: Check Your Paving Before Buying

Joint-It is designed for smooth paving surfaces where a finishing tool or scraper can be pulled smoothly across the top of the paving.

It is not suitable for paving with:

  • Rough edges
  • Beveled edges
  • Hand-cut edges
  • Uneven or irregular finishes
  • Surfaces where excess epoxy cannot be smoothly scraped away

This is important because Joint-It is designed to be applied slightly above the surface before the excess is removed once the grout has hardened.

If your paving has a rough or irregular edge, choose a jointing product specifically designed for that type of surface.

How Does Joint-It Epoxy Grout Work?

Joint-It is supplied as a 400ml dual cartridge containing Part A and Part B.

The two components remain separate inside the cartridge and are mixed automatically as they pass through the supplied application nozzle.

The product can be applied using a suitable manual or electric gun.

Manual Gun

Ideal for:

  • Smaller patios
  • Repairs & Detailing
  • Touch-ups

Tan

Always Test the Colour First

The final appearance of epoxy grout can vary depending on:

  • Paving colour
  • Paving finish
  • Joint width
  • Lighting
  • Sunlight
  • Shade
  • Surrounding materials

We recommend testing the grout on a spare tile or small inconspicuous area and allowing it to cure fully before committing to the entire installation.

What Do You Need to Apply Joint-It?

For a complete Joint-It installation, you will need:

  1. Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout 400ml cartridge
  2. Supplied application nozzle
  3. Joint-It Anti Bonding Wax & sponge
  4. Compatible 400ml twin-tube cartridge gun
  5. Tiler's ball-end finishing tool
  6. Grout scraper or suitable sharp blade

Important

The cartridge gun & ball finishing tool are not included with the 400ml Joint-It cartridge.

The cartridge and application nozzle are supplied separately from the compatible gun dispenser.

What Type of Base Does Joint-It Require?

Joint-It should only be used where the paving has been correctly installed on a stable, full-contact, non-permeable mortar bed.

The paving must have sufficient support underneath and must not move.

Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout Application Process:

  1. Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout is suitable for smooth tiles & slabs, it can be used only on surfaces where a finishing scraper can be smoothly pulled across the top of the paving to remove excess grout. Not suitable for rough, uneven paving slab edges
  2. Do not use Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout in temperatures below 5° or above 25°C
  3. Before you begin application of Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout, ensure your joints are between 1-5mm wide and at least 10mm deep
  4. Make sure tiles are securely laid on a full contact, solid base with no movement in the slabs
  5. Ensure that the tiles or slabs are dry, clean and free of any dirt & debris
  6. When you are ready to begin applying Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout, soak the tubes in warm water for about 30 minutes to soften the grout, and use the sponge provided to apply a generous amount of Joint-It Anti Bonding Wax to the top of the paving slabs along both sides of the joint (the grout acts as a barrier between the grout and the tile, and makes it easy to peel off excess grout at the end of the application)
  7. Ensure that you wax areas no more than 10-15 minutes before you begin grouting
  8. Remove the twist cap from the top of the Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout Tube, screw on the application nozzle provided
  9. Cut the nozzle at a 45º to the size of your paving joint with a clean, sharp stanley knife
  10. Insert the tubes into a 400ml Twin Tube Cartridge Gun Dispenser; by pulling back the lever, and push the tubes down firmly in place
  11. Parts A & B are in separate tubes, mixed within the application nozzle
  12. Using the gun dispenser, squeeze out the first two centimetres of the grout, and discard to ensure that it is mixed well and that the epoxy grout has activated
  13. Using the application gun, slowly squeeze the product into the joints, ensuring that the epoxy grout covers above the level of the tiles
  14. Leave the Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout for approximately 10-15 minutes to set and ‘go-off’
  15. Once semi-set, pull the round ball finishing tool along the joints to create a smooth finish
  16. When the joints feel hard to touch, use a blade to peel off excess product, if the grout still feels sticky and is difficult to scrape off neatly, the grout isn’t ready to be scraped off
  17. Joint-It Anti Bonding Wax will weather off over a few weeks, there is no need to clean wax off the surface of the slabs
  18. Please note: Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout has a matte finish, however In some cases the product may initially have a slightly glossy appearance, this will tone down after a few weeks
Joint-It is a two-part, gun-applied epoxy grout designed specifically for outdoor porcelain paving and smooth stone. It creates a strong, waterproof and non-permeable joint without the messy slurry and time-sensitive wash-off associated with many traditional paving grouts. It is designed for 1-5mm joints with a minimum depth of 10mm.
