Flowpoint paving grout from Ultrascape can be used with a wide range of paving materials, including sandstone, Indian stone, slate, limestone (excluding darker varieties), granite setts, concrete slabs, clay pavers, and other natural or man-made stones. For low-porosity porcelain or narrow joints, dedicated grades such as Flowpoint Fine, Smooth, or Porcelpoint are recommended, with Porcelpoint specifically designed for porcelain tiles, slabs, and stone. For best results, pre-seal slabs with a temporary pre-grout sealer to prevent staining, reduce efflorescence, and protect the paving during installation, ensuring a clean, durable, and long-lasting finish.
As a cementitious-based grout, Flowpoint is impermeable once set, meaning water cannot pass through it to the bedding beneath. Instead, surface water drains efficiently over patios or paved areas via drainage systems such as ACO drains, directing water safely into the general water course. This impermeable quality helps protect the underlying bedding from water damage, reduces the risk of joint erosion, and contributes to the long-term durability and stability of paved surfaces, making Flowpoint ideal for both domestic and commercial paving projects.
No, Flowpoint paving grout will not stain when properly installed and the manufacturer’s instructions are followed. To prevent stains or efflorescence, start by cleaning the paving and dampening joints and surfaces, ensuring there is no pooled water in the joints—use a leaf blower to remove any standing water if necessary. Keep the area lightly misted during application, and use a rubber squeegee to remove excess grout immediately. Once the grout has hardened (around 15-30 minutes), thoroughly clean the paving with a sponge machine or brush and plenty of water to remove any residue. Proper preparation and cleaning ensure a durable, stain-free finish.
Flowpoint paving grout from Ultrascape is available in a wide range of specialist grades and colours to suit different paving materials, joint widths, depths, and finishes. Flowpoint Standard is a versatile, general-purpose grout, while Flowpoint Smooth and Premium Smooth provide a refined, ultra-smooth finish ideal for porcelain and smooth stone. Flowpoint Fine is designed for narrow joints, especially porcelain, and Porcelpoint is formulated specifically for low-porosity porcelain tiles and slabs. Flowpoint Eco contains 20% recycled glass for an environmentally friendly option, and Premium offers two highly pigmented new colours, Limestone and Stone Grey. Flowpoint Standard, Smooth, Eco, and Fine are supplied in Natural Grey and Charcoal, while Premium, Premium Smooth, and Porcelpoint come in Limestone and Stone Grey. Ultrascape Flowpoint Paving Grout is designed complement sandstone, slate, limestone, granite, concrete, and porcelain. All grades provide a durable, stain-resistant, and professional finish for patios, driveways, pathways, and commercial paving projects.
The quickest way to calculate how much Flowpoint or Porcelpoint grout you need is to use the handy coverage calculator on each product page before adding grout to your cart. Once you’ve selected the correct grade for your project, enter the paving area, slab size, and joint dimensions to see exactly how many bags or tubs are required. If you need assistance, simply contact us with your measurements and we’ll calculate the quantity for you. For larger projects, buying Flowpoint or Porcelpoint in bulk can save you money, with full pallet orders often benefiting from free delivery. Yes. Before laying your slabs, we highly recommend using a high-spec slurry primer such as Pro-Prime Slurry Primer to securely fix each slab to the bedding layer below, this prevents de-bonding and efflorescence. Be sure to trowel 3mm the full underside of each slab, and the bedding layer - wet to wet, before fixing it in place.
When using Flowpoint grout or Porcelpoint, it’s not absolutely necessary to seal the paving first. However, in our experience - if you’re using more porous stones – such as slate or black granite, or softer natural stone - pre-sealing the pavers with ProJoint Pre-Grout Sealer can seriously help to prevent grout staining.
Ultrascape recently launched a Flowpoint Premium range of two new colour options. You may have noticed that it’s slightly more expensive than the other grouts in the range. While the formula itself is exactly the same, the price difference is down to the alternative grout colours in this range. Specialist pigments are used to create the colours Limestone and Stone Grey in their purest forms. It is these dyes that are more expensive, which is then reflected in the final price.
Flowpoint and Porcelpoint grouts can be applied in most weather, but perform best on cooler days, which helps keep joints damp and prevents premature hardening. Avoid grouting if joints are filling with water or temperatures are below 5ºC. In warm conditions above 20ºC, grout can set in as little as 15 minutes, so it’s best to work early morning, late afternoon, or in smaller sections. In cold weather, wait until temperatures are rising, mix longer to generate heat, and allow extra curing time. Always keep surfaces damp, monitor curing, and check grout is touch-dry before cleaning for a durable, professional finish.
To achieve a professional finish, start by cleaning and dampening paving surfaces and joints, removing any debris or pooled water. Mix Flowpoint with the specified water (4.25 L for Standard, ECO, Smooth, and Premium; 3.4 L for Fine and Porcelpoint) using a paddle or force-action mixer for 3–5 minutes until smooth and lump-free. Apply immediately while surfaces remain damp, forcing the grout into joints with a rubber squeegee, moving continuously to fill any sunken areas. Keep the slabs lightly misted to prevent hardening. Once joints are touch-dry (around 15-30 minutes), clean the surface thoroughly with a sponge machine, pedalo, jet-washer or brush and water to remove residue. Pavers are walkable after 1 hour and ready for vehicle traffic after 4 hours. Proper damping, timely cleaning, and careful application ensure a durable, stain-free, and professional finish.
